Default Blown turbo leaking oil seals

Hi all

Think my turbo is on its way out, it seems to boost but have found a lot of oil getting through the seals. I would rebuild it but due to it being a vf28 I have heard if can't be rebuilt.

A lot has changed in the scooby world and was wondering if this was the case with these turbos.

The car is a classic so have started looking at replacements. Ideally want to replace it without having to get it remapped because money is tight, made redundant and just moved house. I know it would be easier replacing with another vf28 but considering the age of them could be in exactly the same problem a few 100 miles down the road.

So ideas on what to do or alternative turbos

Thanks
