Exclamation A few Subaru 2.0L GX Estate questions ! :)

I thought i'd keep my questions all together to save multiple questions....

Bought this last week and all going well
https://www.scoobynet.com/members-ga...l#post11840203

It's a 2004, withe 55,000 miles on the clock, all original and like new inside and outside....

1. I'm going to get an oil change and filter done, what oil is best for these ?

2. I need a roller cover for the boot rather than a parcel shelf, what actually do I 'Ebay' for or ask for on here ?

3. Ultrasonic alarm sensors on front pillar's, I need a little holder, is this a standard Subaru alarm, if so where can I get one of the little sensor holders to match my other side.

4. 60MPH whine ! (Exactly 60mph) I have an ear for everything, it's barely noticable, i'm sure it's a diff sound, I have googled this and it seems loads of cars have suffered from this even from new, (with all different answers, wind noise through roof bars, diff, gearbox, someone sitting in passenger seat) I only get it accelerating through 60 or slowing down and if you sit at 60 you do it wont go away, some guys seem to have put up with it for ever, just waiting to hear from you guys

Thanks again...

PS A couple of pics below for alarm sensor bracket and what I need for the boot cover !

Hi

Genuine Subaru Oil Filter + 10w-30 for a non STi (10w-30 is the Subaru recommended anyway, but normally 10w-40 is recommended for STI & modified vehicles - I may be wrong)

Regarding the Alarm Sensor cover, im wanting the same so let me know if you find them!

Cant answer the boot or whine but im sure someone else can.

You can't get the alarm sensor cover on its own,it comes with the sensor.

Noise from the rear end at that particular speed is prob a resonance coming from the diff carrier - IIRC, Subaru introduced Harmonic dampers to the diff carrier to stop a 'Hoo' type noise.

Thanks for all the advice folks, I just won a roller cover (Pointed out to me by 'stamina_daddy') for £11.50 with £9 postage

@merlin Do I juust leave it then ?

I just found out today it has been serviced from new, I never realised it was a mechanic who had it for years

And I was right with th 3000 miles a year for the last 7 years, Lady owner (Kinda Elderly) lol

So do I have anything to worry about with belts or anything ! I presume everything is original, the tyres are 5/6 years old, I will need to replace 2 very soon and no advisories on MOT or last years
