Quarter mile in 12.05:
I don't know what that means for 0-62, but I would imagine its pretty quick. I've seen a few brutal launches with cars in the 3.x range, which I think would be consistent with the quarter time listed above.

Not that I place a great deal of faith in these things, but I had a quick look at the Wallace drag racing calculator, and checked the ET and weight figures, putting in 12.05 and 3000 pounds for weight:
http://www.wallaceracing.com/et-hp-mph.php
The calculator came back suggesting a horsepower figure of 338.88.
I'm not too sure what this specific car weighs, so it was a guess at 3000 pounds, but at 1380kg * 2.2 this works out to 3036 pounds. If anyone can shed light on the weight of the car, that might help.
The weight figure comes from here:
http://www.spec-c.com/my01-sti-type-ra-specs/
but this isnt the same car (2001 vs hawkeye year), as the turbos are different, and the horsepower figure is quite different as well. I suspect there are some other small differences as well.
Apologies on the versions of cars, it was the closest I could find with my 60 seconds of time on this.

A 280bhp Evo RS is quoted at 4.2 and the 395bhp Subaru Cosworth at 3.7 so I'm guessing the Type RA will be somewhere between those times, lighter than the Cossie and more powerful than the Evo with an elevated redline that allows 60mph in 2nd by all accounts.

Let's just say my SPEC C @ around 360bhp didn't achieve a 12.05, and neither did it do 0-60 in the 3's! Using VBOX and/or down a proper drag strip.
IIRC it was low 4's to 60.... if you were lucky on the launching. 12.2/12.3 down the strip.... again all down to launch though.
The bull**** stops when the flag drops..... especially at somewhere like Santa Pod. Ha

Just wanted to add, I looked at the video again, and didnt just skip through the japanese bits, but looked at the stats. The weight was quoted as 1310kg.
If you plug that into the drag calculator (12.05 seconds and 1310*2.2=2882 pounds), it comes back with a horsepower figure of 325.55, which is a lot closer to what many JDM cars have.
Seems a little on the light side though at 1310 kg. Also, in the video it says the power is 295.3 bhp? but later says 280, so either there's something funny going on, or maybe the drag calculator isn't working perfectly?
