Default FMIC

Got a Japspeed FMIC to go on my newage and was just wondering how easy is it to fit and could any decent mechanic fit it? Also what is needed to move the dump valve, where does the dump valve go after removal from the TMIC and is it easy to relocate the IC spray? Thanks in advance.

One of the kit's pipes should have a flange for the fitment of the DV, no?

If not, then one will have to be contrived - either on the pipework before, or after, the IC. You then just need a suitable length of 3mm vac tubing going from the vac nipple on the DV to the nipple on the inlet manifold used for the OEM DV.

Also, if the DV is still the OEM recirc (and you don't wish it to VTA), then you need to join its recirc port to a port on the turbo inlet hose - using a suitable OEM rubber hose, or a aftermarket silicon one, and jubilee clips

You can do it yourself if you're handy with angle grinders and cutting tools. The bumper bar has to be cut to fit the FMIC, then the bumper itself has to be cut to fit close to, but not touching, the FMIC. It's a lot of trying and retrying the fit until it's right.
There should be a spigot that comes off the main pipework just above where it fits into the throttle body. The DV attaches here with some silicon pipe which should be supplied with your kit. You could always just blank this off and go DVless if you can bear the noise.
The spray can be relocated using a one way valve to stop the water just draining out. Realistically though the FMIC doesn't suffer from the heat problems of the TMIC so the spray is unnecessary.

Buy a Dremmel and angle grinder, and do it yourself! A garage will probably charge you a days labour......

Give yourself a weekend to do it.

If I had the knowledge I would but unfortunately I'm not. Just struggling to find someone to fit the FMIC and curious if my mechanic could do it but if not what is the max power I would get from my top mount with supporting mods.

The only way to get the knowledge is to give it a go. Most of us on here have fitted a FMIC and learned as we went. But if you have absolutely no tool skills then take it to a Subaru specialist who, understanding exactly what is required, will at least do it quicker and better than a 'mechanic'. Whereabouts are you? Someone will point you to the nearest specialist.

South Wales mate I have had a few quotes and they are stupid money just to fit a FMIC so was hoping a normal mechanic could do it the same time he fits all the other bits that need fitting.

It's not a 2 minute job, regardless of who does it, that's why the prices are high. They are quoting labour by the hour.
