I'd want a compression and leak down test carried out before buying - if it comes back healthy, it's worth more than a regular run-of-the-mill WRX.

I would be asking why it had an "STI Bottom End" and was it a UK STI or an import Version7 bottom end fitted ?

Still a WRX at the end of the day. But its worth what ever someone is willing to pay.

If you like the car and you are happy with the price then its your choice, But for a bit more ££ you could get a nice STi

Has it been remapped since it's had the extras fitted?
The PPP remap only covers a revised backbox, silicone Ypipe remap and possibly an up pipe change. Details here: http://imdomino.imgroup.co.uk/IMGGB/WWW/Subaru_Accessories.nsf/NULL/FCF6E8E3044B3D2280256DDD00399AB7/$FILE/03MY%20WRX%20PPP.pdf

It doesn't take into account a downpipe decat or intercooler change. If it's not been mapped for the decat downpipe, there is the potential it's been running lean when on boost which certainly isn't a good thing at all if you value your (cast because it's a UK STI bottom end) pistons.

Perhaps I'd add a piston inspection via borescope (via the sparkplug holes) to the compression and leakdown tests too.

are they really going for that much? or is it just silly dealer prices? I am looking to sell my widetrack sti later this year (after I take it to the Isle of Man TT), was only going to look around 7k - or is that too little?

£7 k is too low, My 03 STi is up at 6995 ono so yours would be worth a lot more!
