Unhappy Bye Bye Scooby...

Well, after 5 years of happy ownership I've moved on from my Impreza and traded it in. Looking back.... I kept it in pretty good condition!

Got a feeling I'll definitely be back....

Cracking little place! Just behind Red Line Racing in Knaresborough.

I traded it in for a BMW E60 M5. Strong pace.

Definitely! Picked one up with 47k on the clock and mint all over. Couldn't believe he price given what some M3's are going for.

How did you find running it? I'm filled up every 3-4 days at the minute! Putting it down to a leaky tank... Haha!

I only do around 60 miles a week so not an issue, but when thing go wrong you need deep pockets, the headlight module went on mine ...cost £600+ to have it fix are the dealers,

I eventually p/x it for a new E90 M3 and have regretted the move after a few weeks in the M3

I average 17.1 mpg as I use it in city traffic .

if you are worry about the mpg then these cars are not for you .......but there are bargains to be had right now you can pick one a decent one for £25K (mine cost £64k listed when I bought it )

Hmmm. I don't know mate. I took at M3 when my neighbour had one and it was dynamite. I'll never have a bad word to say about the Subaru but the M3 was pretty blistering.

Not same as this M5 though. Jesus.... what a machine.

How do you find the handling of the M5? I had an E60 535D and felt the slightly blunt handling and the fact it felt very heavy ruined it slightly. I'm interested to know how an M5 feels in comparison.

it an "M" car ...so it will handle and you'll be seated in comfort as well , that V10 is some engine

in a way you are correct the E90 M3 comes to life when the revs hit 8k

where the Scooby flat four is running out of steam at that rev range !!

the M will do silly speed will ease ...but the Scooby at the same speed seems very fast and on the edge ...two every different cars

my everyday car is the M3 and my P1 is for when I want a bit of fun

Hi,

Quite surprised to be honest. I thought with it being quite big/heavy it would be sluggish but not at all. In M-mode it tightens up even more and the response and feel is fantastic.

One of my only criticisms of my hatch was the lack of feel from the steering though confidence built from experience! :-)

Haven't pushed the M5 in bends yet so hard to say but from the couple of corners I've chucked it into its gripped just as well (in the dry!)

Haha! Very true!

I took my friend out for a spin and gave it a bit of welly. He said "this car is basically saying to you: I'll take care of the pace. You just concentrate on direction".

I thought it a good summary as I've rarely felt like I've been going particularly fast but then look down at the speedo and thought '**** a brick!' and slowed down.
