Default Finally car is sorted! Yay

Bit of a long post but I need to get off my chest.ha ha.
05 wrx.decatted.
It started with a cam belt and water pump change which the mechanic got 1 tooth out.
When I got the car back the td04 had blown a seal so got a 2nd hand one and did that myself.
I then bought a 2nd hand vf35 which I paid to have fitted and mapped along with injectors. The turbo turned out to be a dog and I had to go through a PayPal dispute to get my money back.
I decided to do it properly and sent my td04 off to turbo dynamics and had a 16g billet wheel fitted and complete overhaul.
I fitted the turbo and drove car to rich at fb tuning to get map tweaked from crappy vf35.
He commented that the car was now finally running nicely and was very pleased with the turbo but also said he thought that 3rd gear had a slight whine but not to worry.
Drove car back to London and low and behold the gearbox started making a funny noise.arrrgh.
Deep breath.
Got a reconditioned box from a guy on here through eBay and gave car and box to my local mechanic.I waited a week for him to attempt it to find out the driveshafts were different.
Got the correct driveshafts and finally got my car back last night after 3 weeks of waiting.
The car had been off the road more than on it.
I've been out in it this morning and it feels really torquey and I'm pleased with it.
The only thing I've noticed now is the steering wheel grinds a little bit when turning left fast and hard but think it could be steering column rubbing on bellmouth decat.
After everything I've done and changed I'm slightly wary of something else going but there's only the engine left to break.ha ha.
Rant over

When I spoke to turbo dynamics I mentioned hybrid and they said they don't hybrid the td04 just upgrade the wheels and I also paid for port and Polish. Think hybrid is where they change the housing.

19T upgrade on a td-04 is proving very popular as it gets people to around the 300 mark on basic mods and remap.

How much did they charge for the overhaul/upgrade?

Man that is nasty. Can I ask how much did It cost to send td04 off to turbo dynamics and have a 16g billet wheel fitted and complete overhaul?

My bad...That`s what I have had done as well; it cost me £420 from C and R Turbos, New Milton, Hant, not ported.

Mine was 550 I think. Complete overhaul with billet 16g wheel.
The torque is immense. For now anyway. I haven't had it on rollers as not fussed.
Its full decat and ninja 2 exhaust.

Think it was about 550.about 100 was port and Polish.
It basically comes back looking like a new turbo.

£550 is scary when theres a guy on facebook who's been building turbo's for 20+ years that does it for £300 or less, and you get to see it done step by step. He can literally strip, disect, rebuild and hybrid just about anything, not just Subaru turbos.

Look up Craig Bellworthy, Central Turbos, Derby.

Yea i was quoted To rebuild and hybrid the turbo would be £495.00 + £15.00 carriage + vat.

But thought i'd get a V35 turbo instead

Yes maybe could of got cheaper but turbo dynamics are a big reputable company and I needed it done right first time.they even organised to pick turbo up.
It also comes with a test sheet with the test data and tolerances on it.
I'm happy with it and know if I do get issues then I'm sure they will help.
