Hi Everyone,

So although I love my 2007 WRX the power is now at boring levels and some diesel 330D beat me from a standing start the other day (although he did have a car length advantage, but I digress)

Im tempted to get a remap but I know that the 2.5 is percieved as something of a glass engine. Ideally remap, decat and air filter is my thinking at around 265/266 territory. I know above that I am dicing with engine death.

Other potential options include a forged rebuild from ABP and get 310 BHP but by the time that is done, including in effect a hand built engine and remap we are talking £3.1 - 3.5K including lots of funky internal ABP knowhow.

In real terms whats the cost for a good recon 2.5 WRX engine if it does go titsup.com ?

Get a remap and you will do over the 330d's (just) but you will then get your **** handed to you by the 335d's.

Always, always something faster out there!
