Default couple of questions

Ive noticed when i park my car on a hill facing down hill if i pull away i hear a squeal for first 5 seconds. at first i thought it was my brakes but the sound happens when i am pulling away rather than braking. lasts for about 5 seconds and then disapears.

also after a spirited drive and frequent braking, i noticed my brakes make a crunching noise when at slow speeds, ie at a traffic light and i pull forward abit then stop etc then pull off again. the brakes are 9 months old, girodisks on the front that are squealing. from what i know the pads and disks have plenty of meat on em so i am not sure what it is.

in addition i have noticed a whinning noise when driving, disapears as soon as i knock it in to neutral but whines when i am in gear.

any ideas?

thanks all

if I were you i'd be hoping and praying the whining noise is just the clutch bearing.

The brakes "crunching" at low speed could be a broken tone ring.

I have the same in my bug.

Squealing noise could be a slipping power steering/alternator belt.Very common problem & easy to adjust.
