Default Rusty rear sub frame

Folks,

I was under the car working on the exhaust the other day and there is a bit of rust in the rear sub frame. I think it will be a take it off and replace the whole thing job.

Firstly. Is it a massive job to swap it over?

Secondly. Where do I get one? Are they easy to source?

All the best,

Daniel

Cheers guys,

I think I'll need to get rid of it because I'm away for a year.

Anyone got any idea what its worth.

Remapped to 275hp by andy F mainly with prodrive performance kit on it.
Well serviced
rusty front subframe (but I believe this can be removed, it is the C section)
Cat D write off (cosmetic damage which has all been fixed)
Whiteline arb's
105K
prodrive springs on KYB shocks
Whitline ALK
prodrive geometry.

Cheers,

Dan

Cheers,

Some more advice needed please.

If I did decide to save it and park it up.

Will it pass MOT without front C subframe?
How much cash are we talking to swap out an old rear subframe for a new one?
Anyone know someone who will do the work near Gosport?

Cheers,

Dan

Also are all newage saloon and wagons the same?

Cheers

Try ebay for a subframe, Got one for a classic a few months back, was only £75 delivered.
Its fairly straightforward to fit, but is a bit of work. Main problem is getting the old bolts undone, they can be seriously tight. Had to cut one off as nut was rounded off.
