Am i doing something wrong
Check to see if there is an extra tank in the boot cos the best I have averaged is 23 mpg and the worst is 15 mpg(uk 97 my), if there is no extra tank ( as you know there isnt) dont worry cos your mpg will soon come down with more confidence.

When taking it steady 29mpg is perfectly believable. Don't forget when the turbo is not spinning, the car is merely a 2-litre.
Best I got was 39mpg
(was during fuel crisis - drove everywhere at sub-2000rpm
)
Worst I got was 9mpg
(on track)
Normal commute (90% motorway & A-road) I average 28-32mpg.

my new my01 gets 22mpg round town and 37mpg on an economy run of approx 200 miles at av 55mph (this I do with most of my cars for comparison)
my my97 did 9mpg on track , 23mpg round town , and 39mpg on economy run.
previous cars economy runs, 205gti 1.6 -52mpg , 205gti 1.9 -49mpg , and a renault 19 16v -47mpg

My 93 WRX also seems to do well on the fuel. But I would recommend SUL at least. These cars are supposed to be run on 100 RON fuel so 95 ron NUL could cause problems (But I'm sure this is only a real problem on post 97 imports (STI4&5)Flame suit on
Mine ran fine for 6 months on NUL but Sul and booster makes her a lot happier
Have fun

I've only had mine (MY95 WRX) for a couple of months, ran it on NUL for the first two tanks but then decided to try SUL. I'm never going back to NUL, SUL makes it so much smoother generally and especially when pulling away when cold.
I'm thinking about using octaine boost to try and get closer to 100 RON, this seems to be a recommended route to take by everyone on this board.
I've only managed 24mpg tops but that was a mixture of motorway, town and lanes. I really must get round to doing a tank on each and see what I get!

I have a UK Toyota MR2 NA, but I have to admit when I ran it on SUL during Northern Meet 5 it not only performed better, but ran a lot smoother as well. For the price difference I may start using SUL full time.
