Front end respray.

Front end respray.
Evening all,
Just want to get advise and info for a potential respray on just the front end of the Widetrack. From the front doors back the car is near perfect paint wise, it's just the bonnet and bumper that have taken the worst of the stone rashing.
Would I be looking at a total strip back to primer and then paint? If so what sort of pricing am I looking at and any recommendations for a good sprayer. I'm based in the Midlands.
Cheers chaps.

What colour? If its the pearl blue then you find any good bodyshop will blend the front doors too.
You dont take paint back to primer, you only scotch over the lacquer and paint on top. Stonechips will be filled with a type of filler, then all sanded and smooth.
The other option would be to take down to bare metal / plastic, which is an awful lot more work than people think.
A good place will charge you circa £650/700 plus vat, maybe a bit less depending on their labour rate.

Ideally you take all the chips out with 180, then refine before high build primer. This then gets blocked down and flatted and then painted. Bumper would be off so headlights can come out etc.
Depending on the severity of the chips in the wings you could keep it in the wings failing that your into blending the doors too which then means new decals for the doors £70 ish each iirc.
Same again the fog decals ain't the cheapest.
Rough price would be around 450-550 if you need to go in the doors

I work in a small body shop in norton canes(cannock). We would advise blending up the wing if having bonnet and front bumper painted. As with any paint work its the prep and finishing that take the longest.

I always think no matter were you go i think you cant get any better than a factory paint job as i've had a couple done before from body shops and the paint chips off quite easily with stone chips. Im even seeing paint chips on my side door that was also sprayed

You have to realise factory paint has a lot more curing time before the car hits the road than when you have anything painted. Usually it's back on the road two to three days after paint.
