All I have done is change the wheels and rear spoiler and the amount of positive comments are unreal. The scoob was with my mechanic yesterday having a new cv joint fitted and being put through its MOT. Passed with flying colours.
When I collected it last night he said that it is nice to see one in such good condition and that drove so well. He usually see's 'chav'd' up ones that are on their last legs having been ragged to death.
And when I said that I use it everyday, he was even more shocked. 'how do you keep it so clean?'
Nice feeling to have your hard work appreciated.

That's good to hear! I took mine to a Subaru specialist garage for a once over when I brought it, they said for the age its one of the most looked after cars they've seen.
Lovely to hear good comments!

Sometimes less is more a good clean car and some tasty rims is the way forward, a splitter to finish off. Good looking car, missed out on some anthracite speedlines with faulty decals for £180 a rim some years back and Subaru UK did these in bright silver in 100 pcd for £200 a rim. Still the best looking 18 wheel. Try them for some cheap centers.

you car looks great, nice and clean
I took my blob to my local subaru dealer for a new key (lost one, but covered with key insurance). The lad had to take it to a local cobblers to have it cut and then code it at the dealers. when I went back for it, the lad said he couldn't believe how much it growls in an underground car park, he said it's one of the best he's heard
once, I was parked near our high street and the wife had just nipped to a shop and I was waiting with the engine running. An old man (about 75) came walking past and looking at me and my car, [my window was down] I said 'hi' and he said 'that sounds awesome!' I gave it a bit of a rev and he smiled and gave me the thumbs up. I was expecting him to complain about the noise, but was gobsmacked to get a compliment

Cheers fella
That must have been awesome.
Quite a few people that have commented recently, friends and strangers. A know a man also in his 70's who asked how big the engine was. Couldn't believe it when I said a 2litre 4 pot.
It is running a sports cat, de-res centre and prodrive backbox but it's still quite 'thoaty'.
I have owned Imprezas on and off for 11 years now and have never received so many positive comments. May be the image of the brand has started to turn a corner?
New centre caps fitted. Just rim decals to go.

The wheels really make the car, I'm not so keen on the spoiler ( I prefer duck tail or bmw lip) or Silver but yours does look nice.
Standard WRX wheels are awful, just swapping them for STI ones which are 10 a penny makes a big difference to the look.
Well done, less is more.

I think silver wheels on a silver car is almost refreshing after all the anthracites, golds and blacks that are popular at the minute. I think it looks even more OEM than OEM wheels!
Great looking car Gear Head, have you ever considered an HT auto's front splitter? they improve the front end without looking like bolt on tat.

Agreed. Thought I'd regret not getting anthracite wheels but I really like the silver.
I have GH80, but would like to get some winglets at the same time to give that look you have on yours. A splitter doesn't look right on a Newage wrx without winglets in my opinion. Will be going this route soon.
