Hi,

I was running 352bhp in my classic uk and I had 3 gearboxes, it had a hard life.
I sold it 5 years ago and the engine died recently due to putting 95 Ron in it.
Engine was spot on to be fair, it was fine for the 4 years I had it apart from the gearboxes
Regularl services etc...

I would say one of the key things when increasing power would be regular servicing, as more power more stress on engine

As long as you're not under any illusions that it'll last forever then go for it. Asking a 15 year old standard UK turbo engine to cope with 70% more power than it left the factory with will end in tears eventually, and i'd wager sooner rather than later. As long as you are prepared for that then knock yourself out fella. It'll be fun while it lasts no doubt

Most I knew of was about 370 ....from memory
It lasted a long time, but eventually blew a hole in the block.
MY99/00 car
I wouldn't take one above 320 personally

Looking like a vf35 will be the turbo choice it's only for the summer months anyway unless i can find a decent sti classic.

One of the Jap Innovations cars ran 380 bhp on a standard engine, box and management. This was back in early 2000s before mapping became widespread.

My 99 Uk Turbo was fine (gearbox and engine) @ 341, then it overheated and done its HGs. The bottom end was removed and it's still going strong in another car at similar power.
