I've just got a set of morettes for the bug and I'm getting them a fresh coat of paint on them also want to change the bulbs are they the same bulbs as the original headlights or are they a different type cheers

 

Doubtful. The bulbs will be either H7 or H1. Alcazar will be along shortly to confirm

 

Ok is there a way of telling assuming one is a 2 prong and one is a 3 prong or not I will have a look when I get home

 

H1 has one "prong" H7 as two and H4 has 3 Usually the bulb type is printed or stamped on the metal part of the bulb. If you're unsure post a pic and we'll confirm for you.

Standard bug headlights use a single H4 bulb for dip and main.
Bug STi headlights use a H1 bulb for dip and a HB3 for main.

The morrettes have two bulbs for each light. I suspect they will be H7's tbh!
