Default dealer profit making

another dealer I have noticed snapping up cars and reselling for a profit

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...-turbo/3325625

I contacted the owner of this car when it came up for sale a couple of Thursdays ago, arranged a viewing for the Saturday for me to pretty much buy it only to get a message later the same day saying it had been sold (gone have the days of a verbal agreement it seems) the guy selling worked aboard so was looking to sell the car and he priced it very reasonably indeed.. it was up for £7k.. I found out later that the guy who bought it paid £6.5k in the end for it then advertised it for £10k a coupe of hours later.. its getting impossible to compete with the traders these days

yes I know..... money talks...deposit left and all that ..blah blah.. its a thread about the dealers and there mark up on cars not about me

awaits..Fat Thomas..Trinity ect ect..

Sigh, how else do you expect dealers to source cars, if theres bargains to be had then money talks.

40% is the profit margin most people aim for.

But all the bargains these dealers get anyone could actually get, first come first served and all that.

They must sell for that price if the dealers can push them back out again for that price

He probably knew who you were and had a chip in his bonnet so sold it for 500 quid less to avoid being the subject of one of your numerous whinging threads.

Ouch! That's gota hurt, that car is Gorgeous and a JDM too, I'd be proper crying into a few pints now if I were you, £6.5k

I feel for you mate, but if this teaches you anything it's that when the right car pops up, especially an absolute steal like this one, you have to pull out all the stops to get there and give the lad the cash, I'd have put in an all-nighter to get that ******.

If it were me I'd have the cash tucked up somewhere in the house and be ready to go at a moments notice cash in hand, it's the only way your going to beat these dealers to the punch.

Do what I did, see the car, ring, walk out of work and go. Its the only way now with all these gypo dealers.

Would of been a nice find for £7k and that will sell for 9.5K easily, tidy profit for the c**t

I was all set to go up on the Saturday and buy it as long as it was how he describe which he which he agreed too aswell but decided to sell it anyway to someone else lol, a 6 hour round trip isn't something I can do at the drop of a hat unfortunately.. and with it only being a day away before I was going I thought the seller would have gave me a chance.. anyway its gone and although the current seller said I can have it for £8.5k I wont be

Offer him £8k, it's still a nice car and he's still made a tidy profit, also you'll have a warranty, you'd have still gone for it at that if the original seller had it up at that, just a case of getting your head around it, but worth it for the right car.

Life's a b1tch and all that, I wouldn't let it stop me from buying it for a car that I really wanted.

Well if you wont drop everything to go get the car when it sup and someone is then you loose....

Its not rocket science, he had cash and turned up immediately. You were going to wait and hadnt put a deposit or paid for the car.... So first come first serve imo,....

Have to admit that black JDM Blob is very nice!! He sold that cheap at 6.5k, especially when you see private owners advertise them at £10k. Can see why the dealer went there straight away!!

Even at £10k and comparing to other JDM blobs for sale, I think he will get the asking price for it!!!

I think now days its easier to sell a Impreza then buy one!!

its not rocket science.. I never said I don't understand why did I?

seems I need to repeat my self to some people, dropping everything and going there and then isn't an option or is that too hard to understand?

he said £8.5 on the same day he went and bought it, and I think that was only because I told him I knew how much he paid ,I doubt he will even take that now especially with him now having to warranty it

Yup, wanting it all, but when it suits it seems....

Stop whinging and get on with it. If you are not prepared to drop everything and go for the right car then you will never get one. It is not going to fall into your lap you have to make a conscious effort to go get it...

If you arent going to do what it takes to beat the dealers to the punch stop posting whinging threads FFS -.-
