doesn't it amaze you though that companies do go into administration..... surely if the accountants etc were doing there job right these sort of things wouldn't keep happening.
as much as I feel sorry for the people who have been made redundant especially at this time of the year they must have some sort of knowledge themselves as to what was happening......

alot of these delivery firms are in rented distribution units which are on a 15-20 year tenant repair lease. they spent no money on the maintenance and when the lease term is up they face a massive bill to refurbish the buildings. We were involved in one of these recently on a medium sized warehouse and the repair sums were incredible. It happens alot apparently and its easier/cheaper to go bust and rebrand and restart

The beginning of the end for City Link, was a few years back when the bought Target Express and bought all the franchise's back.
