Default time for new exhaust

Since I've owned my Subaru I've had a blitz nur spec and have loved it, I've had lots of comments both good and bad.
But now I do think its getting too loud even for me.
I want something that still produces some noise, the car had a Miltek cat back exhaust when I brought the car but that was too quiet hence the Blitz nur spec. I would like something in the middle.
What would people suggest as a suitable replacement?
My budget is around £350-£400 for a cat back system.
Scoobyworld suggested the Vortex cat back, does anyone have this and how would you recommend it?
This is for a 2005 sti
Thanks

I don't think you will get a cat back Haywood and Scott system for your budget but I maybe wrong. I have a full 3" japspeed system on mine, tried most others and just fancied a change and for the money I can't fault it and would be within your price range and sounds nice also.

What about the Vortex? I checked some videos on YouTube and it seems alright on there...

Nope, it's a bit quieter than the vortex which was too loud for me.

I changed that for a prodrive which was too quiet.

Ninja 2 is just right, plus if you buy new, it comes with a bung to make it even quieter.

I had a nur spec but it was a bit too loud for an everyday car. I fitted a subaru pro R box and its perfect. Nice deep burble and nice note when its being raked. But also no drone at cruising speeds.

I'd stick with the nur spec as you'll end up missing it, I changed mine for a ninja 2 and regret it now as it's way too quiet, miss that nur spec sound

http://www.cobrasport.com/index.php/...resonated.html

Have the Cobrasport back box mated to the standard resonated centre pipe, nice rumble when pressing on but not silly loud.

I'm seriously impressed with my 3" system, sounds glorious and quality is superb
Better made than the milltek IMO

I had a range of exhausts on my Type R and Twinscroll Blob

The Type R sounded fantastic with a Hayward And Scott

but the Twinscroll sounded pants with the same HS system ( the quality is second to none with HS)

The TS sounded great with a Cobra (enhanced the lack of bass with the TS), but sounded epic with a Genome.

Nur Spec are for chav estates wanting to impress the tracksuit wearing kids with pure noise

Was a bit unsure on the Cobra with Cobra sports cat de resonated centre section and track silent rear box then the previous owner started it and I was chuffed nice deep rumble on the 2.5 and I thought perfect and that was coming from a stupid loud nursec and miltek on a previous blob sti I can also here my RCM induction as well so perfect in my opinion
