Well it's not the case of a budget for me it's more the case of a bargain as the classics are getting more rarer I just thought if I could find a bargain then I would store it as an investment to make money in the future as I have my blob sti to use all the time , but finding a good one I like cheap is not looking promising so just asking a few of you what you think really , I thought the rb5 's were getting very rare and sort after but thought this was strange putting a new engine in then selling !

If I was looking to buy a impreza for a investment I'd be looking for a
McRae 555 edition or a STi RA or spec c.
I wouldn't want to buy a RB5 with 122k on the clocks and chassis and i think it's only the colour what makes the RB5 nice, there is Lower mileage cars to consider.
Cars to consider if you are going to invest and store it.

Storing a car hoping to make money on it isn't a good idea, especially if your car of choice is a modified classic Subaru with a forged engine. The ones that will be worth more are standard low mileage good examples and limited editions.... Otherwise you're just wasting your time.

Firstly I wouldn't be buying a car from someone who calls themself "Shabz" and obviously has no idea about the car going by his write up.
Secondly, if you are looking for an investment then it certainly won't be in an old high mile UK edition car that's been messed around with.
Buying a car now in the hope of making money in the future doesn't make sense to me. A 5K classic isn't going to jump to 20K all of a sudden or even in the next 15 years imo.

Matty is right, you need to find a low milage sort after car. Eg, P1, type r, sti, or something thats very low miles.
There was a uk Impreza i saw on auction for £2500 earlier this year, only done 49k i didn't bid for some reason. Gutted. Now that was a bargain. Bet would have been worth 5k in a few years easy
