Default New Subaru Owner - Advice Needed

Hey Everyone

This is my first post on here, so here goes

I have recently bought a 2005 Blobeye Impreza STi Widetrack which I am extremely happy with, but I'm wanting to treat it to some Christmas presents.

I'm wanting to get some gauges so I can keep an eye on the boost and oil temps / pressure and these have taken my fancy:
http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog...oducts_id=3456

Has anyone had any experience with these gauges? Also, is it worth paying the £199 to get them fitted at Scoobyworld?

Also, Im undecided wether or not to get a dump valve fitted, I understand there are no performance increases and people have mixed reviews on them but I'm just a fan of them in general. If I do go down this route I would get it fitted by Scoobyworld (Only £14!) but would I need to remap the car? Im assuming not but would it effect anything apart from the noise? haha

If you need to know anything about my car then just give me a shout!

Thanks!
Gav

Those gauges are pretty decent and offer good value for money in my opinion. I used them in my last classic and got on well with them.
I wouldn't be paying somebody £200 to fit them tthough. I am quite handy at doing stuff myself though and to be honest it's a pretty simple job, however, if you are not that way inclined then you're stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Dump valve wise, I'd swerve it to be honest.

Thanks Matty, I'm not too bad at bits and bobs but really don't want to f**k anything up if you know what I mean. I might get the kit and ask my local garage who are sound with me to fit it for peace of mind

What is your opinion on dump valves?

If you have a good search on here I'm sure you'll find a 'how to' guide on fitting the gauges. It's really not that difficult if you are handy with the spanners
The places for the sensors are the important bits and a garage that doesn't deal with impreza's probably won't know about them.

Dump valve opinion....... not my cup of tea. Why spend that much money on something that does zero for your car and could actually cause you issues.

Thanks Matty, It think I'll have a crack at it and if it doesn't plan out accordingly I'll have a run up to Scoobyclinic which isn't too far from me.

Thanks Dave, that's only about half an hour from mine so I might tag along

Do you have a Facebook events page set up for it or is it a regular thing?
