Question

On my way home last night and was getting very low on fuel. Was about 12:10am and most petrol stations were closed. When I found one that was open they were all out of super unleaded so I had to put in normal unleaded (only put in £5).

About another 25-30 miles down the road I managed to fill up with my normal petrol (Shell Optimax).

As I have a Jap STI Type R will putting a small amount of unleaded in my car bugger anything up? First time I had to use it, didn't have much choice.

As long as you didnt push the car hard (ie run it to the red line or higher up the rev range) then you shouldnt have any probs.
Would suggest that you buy a few bottles of octane booster incase of emergencies thou

It should be okay. When I was in Santa Pod, I had to refuel with NUL because I couldn't find the Shell station. As long as you didn't push it hard, it should be okay.

I run optimax and octane booster permanently, its cheaper than a rebuilt engine but thats just me . I have seen guys locally filling classic WRXs up with NUL and now I let them get on with it and dont even bother to make conversation any more. Obvious they know better
