eBay or City link, someone has to pay!!!
Just received a pair or brake calipers which I bought from eBay. Listed as new and never fitted,no mention of any damage.
This was the 2nd attempt at city link delivering as I was at work yesterday. Driver handed me the box and it was heavily damaged which I put in the comments before I signed for it,the driver tells me "it wasn't like that yesterday"
On opening the box and inspecting the calipers I have noticed that the seals are split on both calipers! Gutted as I wanted to fit them this week.
They were pretty well packaged with news paper and bubble wrap so can't see how the seals would get damaged but the box was that heavily damaged it looks like it had been dropped from a great height!
Fecking city link! I've heard loads of bad stories about this lot that I'm surprised they are still in business!
I will see what the seller has to say

I think you need to contact the seller.

I know what your saying,I'm thinking they might well have already been like that, but they are brand new and the pistons are all the way back,I would have thought they would have to be fitted to push the pistons out?
The box was that badly damaged I didn't even have to open it to get the calipers out! Doesn't look good on city link.

I've had a reply from the seller
"these seals are not split that is the circlip that holds the rubber seal in the calipers it can be popped back down and they will be fine"
What do you think? Is it just the circlips?
I won't be fitting them for 2 weeks so won't be abel to see the seals fully out until fitted.

It is but you cant send a body panel in a box with bubble wrap! Not unless its a bloody sturdy box. I would say the seller is at fault for packaging and I doubt city link will cover it as there are terms and conditions which prohibit a lot of things being sent. Fairly sure glass and body panels are included.
I had a bonnet delivered but it was sent on a pallet upright with a wooden frame around it. Expensive but the way it should be done.

I went to a collection once, booked through the likes of parcel2go etc. The woman sending the item was trying to send a mirror, that was about the same size as a 32" TV.
I refused to collect it, and in mega hindsight, I wish I'd taken a photo on my phone.
Her idea of safely packed was a few scraps of bubble wrap, sort of, around it. She didn't look too impressed when I told her that if I had collected it, it would have probably been smashed to **** before I got out of her street.
Only way to do it, really.
