22B STi hunting down a 911 GT3 - Amazing track footage!
Hi all,
Spotted this when I was on YouTube earlier (not my car or vid):
Its nice to see some track footage of the glorious 22B for a change. I'm surprised how well it performed against the brand new GT3 and illustrates the amount of engineering that went into creating something rather fenomenal! .
Some of the other videos the owner has posted are a great watch as well. For instance:
Kind Regards,
Subaru Collector 555.

GT3 seems to pull away nicely as soon as the track straightens, if the 22B is mapped it may have a good 50-60lbs of torque more not to mention 160kg of car weight less.

I dont know, looks like the porsche wasnt stretching its legs, when he did open it up on the straights he pulled easily on the 22b, and i expect he wasnt trying very hard either!

track days are funny things as you never know who is driving the cars and how they are being driven either.... and realistically if the person in the Porsche had put his foot down he would have been out if sight I would imagine...

TBH my ratios help me dispense with shorter ratio'd 450bhp STI's but I've raced an old fart who lives near me in his Porsche GT2 and even though I'd like to report I did well, he well and truly frigged me up the a-hole. It left me as quick as my mates R1 left me. I let off after 25 metres and flashed him out of respect.

But you could say... More impressive again is the heavier, NA car strolling away from the lighter modified turbo car.
Not sure I'd like an Impreza on track really. I love the cars, don't get me wrong but they're cross country blasters, they don't really seem suited to long sweeping tracks. All they excel at on track is gripping out of a corner and that first couple of seconds of acceleration from corner exit, It's the only place they don't get found out.

[QUOTE=banny sti;11567070]Sorry but I really have to disagree with that, a well setup impreza is an excellent track machine
They are pretty **** as standard though, need a fair few quid throwing at them to make them go around corners as well as they go down the straights.
