Default Cheshire non performance

Cheshire none performance

Hi, I am writing to everyone who has had problems with Cheshire performance. I am doing this to help those (and me too) who need the help tackling issues with them.
We need to put a stop to them causing anymore misfortune to unsuspecting customers.

I was one of those unsuspecting customers, they sold me an unroadworthy car that put me and my children's life's at risk not to mention other road users. The car had nearly no back brakes, no handbrake what so ever, no brake lights, faulty headlight, faulty gearbox, barley legal tyres and other little bits and bobs. My main points are the faults that make the car dangerous to be driven on the road.

Cheshire performance have not shown any remorse or apologised for what they have done to me and my family and from what I have read in other threads they treat other people the same way.

I want to find all the loopholes they seem to be using to get away with things, and hopefully with everyone sharing their experiences we can expose them. Then theses experiences can be used against them in court.

Any information anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

People are welcome to share there view, thoughts and experiences. But please keep them true, as I would not like to cause of any slander/libel.

Cheers guy's

No offence but did you not even look at the car or test drive it. Those are faults you should have seen viewing the car...

No I didnt, I work seven days aweek and I didn't have time to see it. I read the description which said no issues at all and got the mike the sales manager to confirm it which he did so I paid for it over the phone. When I picked up the car it was starting to go dark so didnt see or find the fault untill the following day.
Anyway this isn't about whether is saw the faults before buying. It's about them selling death traps and thinking they can get away without repairing them.

Mine was also problematic. The front brakes were either wrong Or fitted incorrectly as were binding then wore a huge gouge into each disk, they were just changed so I assumed they would rub for a few hundred miles. Braking power was greatly reduced to a dangerous level and this is also after a failed attempt to repair.

The car also had sinchromesh problems that turned into full on gearbox problems and also included one of the diffs.

All problems remained after a so called attempt to repair.

I've been messed around for 17 weeks now and they have recently attempted to blackmail mail into removing my thread in return for buying my car back at a reduced price.

In a vulnerable position at my whits end they are trying their luck

It looks like they have changed their name to Clives Performance.

Anyway im no trying to be funny but i would never pay for a car over the phone without viewing it, i wouldnt trust a salesman/manager to tell the truth tbh. A simple viewing could have seen some of those faults and from my experience cars r never as good as they look in pics.

Good luck with the fight against them, hope they get what they r due.

Clives performance is C performance not Cheshire performance. One is Lancashire one is Cheshire.

the law bought a car in good faith, some people put too much faith into traders thinking they are protected by the law. I was much more laxed buying from a trader.

That's not the point anyway, the law states the vehicle must be in a satisfactory condition, that goes for upto 6 months. There are unrectified issues 8 weeks later that's the only fact that matters

I had the same problem with Hurst cars about 5 years years ago...Sold me a car with holes on the brake discs, pins missing on the calipers, pads gone and almost died on a acident because of the brakes condition.

It was my 1st scooby so didnt really know what to expect from the brakes until 1 day after i bought the car i had to make a proper brake and i almost ended up smashing the rear of the front car.

Good luck sorting them out..Call trading standards...they will help you out.

I bought a car from a friend who's bought it from CP the week before. The advert is still on their site as a 'genuine, one owner low miles car'.

Theres nothing majorly wrong with the car, other than the sills have massive holes in them and the underneath hasn't been undersealed in a long time.

Not earth shattering difficult or expensive jobs to complete, but it indicates that CP either a) never had it on a ramp for inspection, or b) had it on a ramp and didn't give a ****.

Neither are what you'd really expect from a specialist.

I did wonder if Cheshire Performance had any relation to Rev It Up in north wales/cheshire, who also a bunch of cowboys.

I think it just boils down to so called 'traders' buying cars off private individuals from ebay/PH/Autotrader etc.. adding a mark up and just selling 'as they got them' without carrying out inspections or getting obvious jobs that need doing done (such as brakes etc)!

As far as they are concerned every pound spent is a pound eating into their profits...!

I'm sure if they spent a little on making the cars safe / getting jobs done and then selling no doubt they will make less profit but more than likely a greater turnover as people would be putting up threads praising them rather than laying into them..! Giving new potential buyers confidence in buying from them.

I bought a car from company near Cheshire performance, saw that the car had been leaking water, as there was water marks, was told the car was fine no problems.

Few weeks later started over heating, headgasket. Took loads of phone calls to get it sorted. Had to pay to get the car transported back to them, as they wouldn't pay a local garage.

They were a bunch of cow boys, so bad that asked for the water pump to be done at the same time, tried to charge £275. Said forget it, then they said they changed it themselves as it was leaking

2nd time i dealt with a trader, I normal don't as there cars are way over price.

They seem to be picking up a lot of Hondas recently, so might also be worth posting on the Honda forums, and the Pistonheads forums, set up a facebook page (that one will never get taken down) , direct all people viewing the threads to the facebook page, eventually you will have a lot more direct contact with peeps who have been done by them all in one place. A place you can put alerts out etc. I've mentioned this to you before.

Get yourself added to all the various car facebook pages, and pop the link around, eventually, your group will grow. Whereas this thread will be useful for a few people on here, and future buyers using google, you wont gather buyers who have had trouble and arent using Scoobynet. A lot of Subaru owners don't use Scoobynet because of the the troll FOC Former Owners Club that it has going on.

Sorry just seen you purchased without viewing, which is even more crazy!

I viewed a black 06 Sti there earlier this year... Advert said “good clean car, no issues”

Apart from the engine management light being on, which they forgot to mention in the ad.
SAS pump fault... I walked away as i wouldn't trust them with a bag of sweeties.

Have to agree though.... Buying without viewing is madness.... Trust no one!

These cowboys think they can do whatever they want but it doesent work that way. You need to get trading standards involved mate.

It doesn't matter 'you should've checked it' etc.etc. The law is traders must not sell defective items, how long has it been since you bought it? If it's within the last 4 weeks you have strong grounds to 'reject' the car for a full refund, there's no time limit per say for rejecting goods, but SogA states 'reasonable time' which is a de facto 28 days. Best bet would be to call citizens advice or trading standards. It it worth noting however, that as soon as you notify them of rejecting the car (always do this by writing and recorded delivery) you cannot use it.

Might as well stick my tale of CP,I got off reasonably lucky compared to some of you guys. Car wouldn't boost above 0.5bar (found out it was the ECUTEK low boost setting),car pulled dangerously to the right due to geometry being way out (subaru specialist said the worst he had seen),diffs banged due to mismatched tyres with different tread heights, battery was dead, header heat shields completely rotten and rattled continuously, grommet missing from bulkhead so all engine noise into cabin,no jack or spare wheel cover (complimentary Peugeot 406 wheel in boot).
Wheels had been plasticoated by a blind man or child so peeled off when I replaced tyres,HIDs were different colours which was mentioned in previous MOT sheet, only 1 speaker worked.
There's probably other things but you get the jist, had to pay for tax even though they said it was included, messed me around when I was supposed to pick the car up.
In all its cost me around £600 to get the car as it should have been.
I hoped they would have sorted themselves out after the director thread but obviously they are exactly the same/worse.
Muppets.

The car should be fit for purpose for the first 6 months, anything within that time it is deemed the trader sold it that way believe it or not.

They than have a reasonable amount of time to repair, they've massively exceeded that with both of us and failed to repair both after 1 attempt, in my case they've had 15 weeks in total

I was promised a partial refund 6 days ago. A few days after I was blackmailed in removing my thread off here before they would release the funds.....

I have them until today to put the funds in my bank, after agreeing and attempted blackmail they haven't payed a penny.

Take note people, absolute scumbags. Thank God for the no win no fee lawyers as I'm doing these guys for the car and blackmail.
