Is that a Prodrive P1 ECU you have then? What is the story?

Are STi 5/6 owners interested in P1 ECUs?

Just picked up my first scoob today!!! Absolute mint MY99 STIV with prodrive ECU. Well chuffed.

Bought it off a top bloke called to Bito in london village. Cheers mate. Trust me, it has gone to a good home. Already had a wax!!

Hope your VII delivers everything you want and you dont miss the scoob to much.

Well, I've been looking at the maps and they look the same. But there is an area for knock sensor sensitivity which we are looking into, that looks as though the P1 listens to the knock sensor better. Whatever, the low octane/detonation maps are not very good - it really does not do much the STi5/6 or P1 about det compared to the UK car in terms of adding fuelling and pulling timing.

The P1 ecu is mapped to react sooner to detonation than the original STi V ecu - which as you know is mapped for 100RON fuel. The P1 ecu was fitted for safety, due to the posts here about blown engines etc. and the STi 5 map.
The car was rolling roaded , prior to and after fitting of the P1 ecu, and produced the same power and torque figures.

BKS....enjoy the car and if you need anything, drop me a line!!

Cheers

Thanks V5-APS. Goes along with what we are seeing in the maps - looks like just the knock sensor sensitivity is increased. Do you think there would be much demand for this alteration to other STi 5 or 6s?

Waiting for you to reply to that one bito!! i contemplated explaining it but then thought no-one would appreciate me talking weird. Sure i could have made something sound technical.

anyway, about all this mapping data nonsense. All you need you know is that it looks great ,sounds mint and goes like a 2 dollar wh*re!!

ps bito, you'll be pleased to know i dont feel guilty anymore!

John....i think that anyone who is worried at all about blowing up their STi 5/6 engine, due to UK fuel, may be interested in the remap to P1 spec...AG340 if i'm not mistaken.

BKS....Had to WALK home from work today .
Glad you're enjoying it though....post a pic. for the others !

Cheers
