Hi all,

Since last couple of weeks, my car has been making squeaking noise around the AC compressor area. I get the noise all the time now regardless when the AC is on or off.

I was wondering if you all have come across this and resolved it without replacing the AC compressor itself.

Could be the bearing on the compressor, mine was making a little noise so I took it off and was able to inject a little gear oil in to the bearing itself. I did have to make up a plate and use a bearing puller to get the pulley off though. Compressors aren't expensive now as most people seem to rip them off to save weight or something. Try taking the belt off first to rule the compressor and tensioner out.

i tried your recommendation. Still squeaking!
It only does it when Air con is switched ON, i guess it’s the compressor magnet engaging.

There is a very similar thread running too this , i put a post on it about the tensioner pulley wheel being an issue ? as that was the problem with mine , on another car i greased the ac clutch which solved it
