Default Opinions on this car please

Is it over priced? If so what do you think it's worth?

That is a very good clean car , low mileage , full service history perfect for putting your own stamp on it with mods Matt .

Looks like a good car, but it is a 2.5 in a not so desirable colour and I think may fall into the higher road tax bracket with it being a 56 plate.

A very nice and tidy black 2.5WRX wagon with 72K could not sell for £4200 on here a month or so ago so £8K is quite a price, that said it is a dealer car with warranty and has low mileage, but... still think the price high!

granted it had 75k on it but was maintained meticulously.

To be honest I really like the colour as it's a bit different and feel it could be a good base car for a few little mods. What I am a bit concerned about is the fact that it is a 2.5L and it would come into the higher tax bracket. Do the 2.5 WRXs suffer as many engine failures as the STIs have?
Realistically what kind of price would you think it's worth? I'm thinking maybe between 5 and 6k

Ideally I would prefer an 05 blob in silver or red, but this just popped up and it got me thinking about maybe getting a hawk eye for a change.

If you like the colour no worries, I was just saying that it isn't generally as desirable as some other colours (the all too common and overdone boring blue for instance).

I would say £6K maybe £6250 would be a reasonable price.

The 2.5s seem to suffer far less failures in WRX spec, but head gaskets can still go.

That's great mate thanks, I've just spoken to the garage about the car and it seems that there is no service paperwork with the car the book is all stamped up, but no paperwork to say what work if any has been carried out on the car including no mention of when or if the cambelt has been done. Oh and the last service was done at halfords

£8k is reasonable milage Blob STI money, fair enough if you prefer the WRX like I do, but if like you say you want to mod I'd go for an STI as it will save you a fortune and they can take it up to around 450bhp without issue.

To be honest i wouldn't go for the WRX unless cheaper as bhp is poor specially for a 2.5, 225bhp if i'm correct is pants for a car that weghs a shed load more than a classic.

Wrx should be running 280bhp and sti 320bhp-350bhp standard.

Cam belt will cost you what £250 and nothing wrong with a halfords oil change, you can use that it has nothing as a bargin tool, I bought mine with next to nothing and still going strong 2 years later on!
