Mobil Super 3000 5w/40
Hi All,
I know oil is one of those subjects that carry on forever, but just want to know if anyone has used Mobil Super 3000 5w/40 and what they thought of it?
Looking to use it in my 2002 STi Impreza 340BHP with 83,000 miles.
Previous owner used Shell Helix 5w/30.
I have already done 3,000 miles since buying it, and it has not used any oil at all!
Thanks

I have used it in my 05 wrx and it hasn't gone bang. Not quite sure what you want to hear. Plus there a couple of threads on here about it already.
I would have thought though that with your power, you really want to be using something a bit thicker.
I am actually changing it to a 10w40 semi synthetic this month and then change it every 3000 miles.

Just a word of advice.
I would listen to engine builders rather than Oilman. Buy your oil from him, no problem and I don't want to offend. But many respected builders in the Impreza community have seen multiple failures with 0 and 5w oil. And oilman doesn't rebuild engines for a living.
