Default Inter member bitching

Just quit it! It wears very thin, very fast and does nothing to help "community".

Outcasting people and making them leave the site is never going to be a good thing. Diversity of opinion is required for a balanced outlook otherwise the outspoken bullies will dominate and it'll be become a fit in, or f*ck off clique.

If you don't like what people have to say then fair enough. It's not unreasonable to voice an opposing view, but more often than not the heckles immediately go up and it quickly deteriorates into a slag fest which train wrecks the thread and completely ruins it. It often overspills onto a totally different thread when people just won't let something drop and keep digging at each other.

Just kidding, keep it up ... the controversy is amusing to read sometimes

So ... is Jayjay100 an actual retard or is it all a façade?

JayJay100 may not be the most grammatically spoken lad in the world and so what?
Not the best at spelling but hay ho!
He is a good one and has interesting things to say,,I like him and always understand the points he gets across.
Some people find him difficult to understand therefore decide to mock him.
Maybe these people are the real retards?

I mentioned him because I read the fat thomas vs Jayjay100 thread before it was deleted. I find his posts very hard to read but can just about make sense of them most of the time. I can't figure out if they're carefully crafted troll bait, or just plain nonsense. As said before ... is he 14 or 50? I actually can't tell.

I am amused now at XDevil666 and f1_fan sniping at each other on various threads.

Has chris jt actually gone now since 2.5gate ?

So much conflict! This is better than Eastenders.

Jayjay100 just gets excited in the same way my son gets excited when I take him to the toy shop or to get some sweets!!!

I think he loves his car, and its all new to him and he gets over excited trying to take in to much information at once, we have all been there, god I look through some of my old posts when I joined in 2004, lets just say some of my old threads are a bit embarrassing when I look back.

It often makes me tune away from the site for a while with the constant big man bitching that happens on here. Never have I seen a car forum quite like it?

FatThomas is just another tubbytommy really .... or is it the same guy....

Totally agree with you! Annoys me to see it to be honest and don't understand why admin don't put a stop to blatant trolling and mickey taking because of lack of knowledge. We all knew nothing once!

Btw it is the same person.

That poor car got abused(not the girls) but learned a lot from it. I admit I drove that car like I stole it, but you end up getting bored driving like a idiot everywhere. Now my missus moans at me for driving too slow, I really cant be bothered driving fast anymore(can pretty much say its out of my system)

Dam it I missed the thread being pulled! Was it the NOS one?
Is tubby banned again? Maybe he'll come back as chubby??
Anyway the banter is funny but some people take it too far and some people just take the bait too easy.
Things have definatly changed, less good car threads and more bitching.
Less car enthusiasts and more bitches, sad really

JayJays posts are funny and it certainly makes an interesting read. He's a decent guy tho, and people do seem to pick on him a fair bit. But he takes it well and sticks up for himself, so good on him.

Very good thread imo.

Simple enough question - would you (anyone) say to people's face what you (anyone) post on here?

And another - if you did, what would you expect in reply - the same response or a decking?

Which brings me on to this:

It's not about reading what he (or anyone) writes MT2000, it's about comprehending it. You're not necessarily 'gifted' - you can work out what the combination of letters and words mean, but anyone who writes as 'badly' would also do that.
You however have the gift of not looking down or sneering on those who don't (appear to) have what is termed 'command of the English language'.

I fix PCs.
Customers say "I'm not a genius like you, I don't have a clue about computers".
I reply "I'm not a genius - have you seen me trying to change a washer on a tap, or painting a wall?".
They look up to me but I don't look down on them.

Unfortunately people who feel unfullfilled ('could have been a contender....') sometimes acquire knowledge in a narrow area and then use that as a way of looking down on others who don't have that particular knowledge.

Although I've owned 3 Subarus until I bought my current one and came across SN I knew next to nothing about the marque (never even heard about a T20, or Hawkeyes, Blobs etc.).
Another newbie aka Troll food.

Out came the dynamic duo er.... trolls, not realising that they were in fact being hunted.
The rest is history (but for the record my daughter got a B in her sociology study entitled 'Human Interaction in Cyberspace).

I think the comment "remember it's only the internet and not real life, someone gives you shyt give it back that's what happens" isn't the best way of putting it.

I don't think anyone on here has any doubts what would happen if LWC meets Mr McKay in real life.
Now THAT would be "funny"

Well said LWC! I must admit that every post of yours has got me in awe... You are a humble and down-to-earth person from what I gather in your posts.

I have felt from the day that I joined that I could be around you and not have to pretend to be something I'm not, but could be the true me and you wouldn't mock me for it.

I am glad that there are still guys like you in the world, there are few true gentlemen like you around nowadays... Keep up the good work!

At least LWC is a Subaru owner. That gives him a running start over the non owners who just come on here to annoy people. But perhaps that's because the forums for the cars that they own simply won't tolerate their type.

Well I did own 5 over 17 years, but there you go. I would own one now if the wagon was a bit bigger. I also joined this forum back in 1999 not that that really matters, but then I'm not the one scoring points here.

Oh and a fully active member on the Merc forums where, interestingly, if someone starts a thread on a Honda or a Subaru there is nothing but positive interest shown. Funny that.

You certainly don't get comments like this that was posted on here:

nor his Fanny mate ( who drives a poxy Merc 55 ???????????').
I'll leave it to you to work out who brought that into a thread that up until then I hadn't even been a part of or even aware of.

Hmm, well I have been a MBO Forum member for several years but I've never seen any bitching/trolling in SNet style. But perhaps I don't look in the right places!

Yeah, I think this forum has it a lot more for some reason. It hasn't always, but maybe it being established for a long time has something to do with it. When I joined originally in 1999 there were only just over 500 posters and back then it was all Subaru and nothing else.

Now the forum has grown massively (albeit I think it isn't as busy now as a few years back) a lot of the old schoool posters have moved on to other marques, but still come here as it feels a bit like that local pub you have been going to for years. Now they tend to talk about a broader range of subjects so it is less Subaru focused than it once was.

Look I know I can be a part of the nonsense that goes on here sometimes, but truthfully I only ever give as good as I get. Overall I still think SN is a good place
