I did pm Ian last Sunday but not had anything back off him yet, I'll chase him up tomorrow.
Yeah I spoke to Apex a while back and they said that there was a 3-5 week waiting time on delivery as they don't keep any spares on the shelf, I was hoping Ian may have had another avenue to go down.
Thanks for the replies guys

HI
As long as the bores of the calipers are not damaged in anyway we can do them for you , seals could be a problem though , I know the last guy who sent calipers in for us to do had to wait ages to get seals , he ordered them himself and sent them in with his calipers , I'm sure he said they cost him £250 for the seals for 2 front calipers ! for a cheap kit that take the mick some what.
I am trying to source seals at the moment.
We could strip and clean everything up and find the seals are re-usable , if that's the case its not a long wait , the seals are fitted to the pistons not the bores of the calipers , so if any much has got into the calipers and damaged the bores it could be a problem , we have already had a couple of sets of calipers we couldn't fix that wouldn't hold pressure , but have done many more sets with no issues , we won't know until they are stripped
Hope this helps
Cheers Ian

Thanks for the replies guys. They are the new style calipers not the older ones.
Ian I'm coming down to Swansea next Friday for a few days so I could drop them off to you en-route, ive started taking them apart so hopefully you'll be able to tell whats needed.
Yes IIRC the seals were £100 each and the replacement pistons £25 each. Apex place the order in china and the bits get shipped over, not sure why they don't have any spares on the shelf though, perhaps they don’t have many failures so aren't a big seller.
If the bores are scored and calipers are knackered then I'll be quite annoyed. I'm starting to wish id spent a bit more cash and got something decent.

So I finally got time to get the last few bolts out and separate them, looks like the corner of the caliper near the pads has corroded and grime has pushed the shim into the pad. It's only done it on 1 side though.

Hi, Alyn at ASPerformance rebuilt mine, but as others have mentioned the seal have to be ordered in via Apex
I have one of the first batch of 6 pot front calipers (304 kit) which IIRC has been on my car since 2009 doing daily duties until 2013 where now it just drives to sprint events. I think I did about 40k miles on them before the rebuild. I also had build up behind the pad sliders and this can give the impression that a piston is seized (it isn't - the pad is just wedged) so before ordering any seals etc check the pad slider - the caliper and pistons may just need a good clean - the latter definitely due to lack of dust seals.
When I bought mine they were £800 cheaper than the equivilent AP kit and for the money the caliper is very good at what it does - you do need to keep on top of them though

on op picture pad looks a bit strange for 8 pots
i mean shape is different than ebc blues which i use
when i bought new pads i could not put them in, i take off paint and some steel on each side ,that give me 1mm clearance.
