Hi, has anyone upgraded their classic to 500-600hp. Was it worth it? How responsive does it feel? Thanks

VERY expensive, needs all new internals and maybe heads.

Mine runs a steady 400/400 and is very quick, yet easy to drive due to the toque from the 2.5 block and the 6-speed.

ive got an 05 sti, Im pushing for 550 on a 2litre forged closed deck block with jdm heads, i got it mapped 2weeks ago with a billet 3076r and only made 450 (450 is fooking quick by the way) but is very responsive, it realy gets going from 3k revs upwards, ive since swapped the 30r for a scooby clinic 35r and awaiting a date for maping so il let you know

Yeah i had a skyline 650 and that was an animal just lost interest beause everyone had a fast skyline and tbh i dont know to many people woth fast classic impreza's anyway my impreza has just finished rebuild with cosworth 2.2l stroker and ive got all the usuall supportin mods ie front mount bigger fuel pump, injectors clutch and so on so now im just looking for more power also looking at the scooby clinic gt35

Speak to clinic direct mate, turbo choice is very dependant on build spec, rigth turbo may make slightly below target power but be balistic for road cos of spool, wrong turbo might make the figure but be a lag monster.

Firstly mount the wife. I recommend a careful approach from the rear.
Secondly inform her that her sister is better in the sack.
That should give you some idea of how responsive 600 bhp is in a Classic.

Tidgy, thanks that looks like the best option i want fast spool not laggy so will give scooby clinic a call tomorrow when missus aint around and talking of missus if i told her that alan i think i never see my scooby run 600bhp because she'd kill me but gives me a good idea lol
