2003 WRX Gearbox Coversion
As I'm looking for a full STI box and running gear a mate tells me the classic 5 speed STI box's fit. I've found out the clutch and flywheel are the same size and I can get one quick.
Has any one done this or know anyone that has?
The scoob is only running about 300 but chewed up the box
Thanks Sam

The sti 5 speed will fit but the classic boxes are weaker than newage, hawk newage is the strongest 5 speed then blob then all classic boxes come third in the strength stakes.
if your chewing newage 5 speed boxes @ 300bhp then maybe it's time to look at your driving style or fit a 6 speed.

Big thanks for the info Ditch, I had a hunch that was the case strength wise.
Hands down it's my driving style (I love the car) lol it's my first scoob and you learn from your mistakes aye
My other problem is I'm suppose to be taking her to the nurburg in 2 weeks. I was looking into the newage 6 speed conversion because I want more power at a later date anyway, but carnt find a full set up. And this classic box is sat next to the car ready to go in, shall I just risk it and take it easy till I get the 6 speed? Or is there no point? Also I've heard the classic box's are good for about 350bhp is that nonsense???
