Andy, just reading this Im wondering if the base map on the motorsports pack should be mapped or if its good enough in standard trim? I tried the launch and traction control in the wet with all the default settings and it seems to work ok. Would I see any benefit on what is essentially a standard type r?

The default map works well but you can experiment with LC engine speed and boost targets to improve the launch. Tweaking it at the drag strip against the 60ft time is good. I got into the 1.6s bracket that way on 205 section tyres and it was very repeatable.

You can find the sweet spot for ALS by tweaking to get best increase in manifold pressure.

Flat Shift is awesome, so I think it is worth fitting the clutch switch.

TC is mainly for monster power cars but would be useful in the wet.

Im thinking that traction control on a type r is a good thing as I have stepped the back end out way too easy with the diff open.

My mk2 RS2000 with 130hp was a little easier to control!

There are some very nice aftermarket diff controllers out there, with 2 axis accelerometers and a variety of other inputs. Would be well within your gift to fit and map. Thinking of one for the Gymkhana car, but it almost feels like cheating.

Proper als will do your turbo, exhaust manifold and god know what else!

Some pops and bangs won't do too much damage

The ALS can be added with varying amounts, from very aggressive to relatively mild i beleive. I had mine added with a relatively mild amount, not too crazy, but eneough to have a bit of fun without too much worry.

Launch control on the other hand WILL make your EGT's go very high if your not careful

This is why I need to know what mine is mapped to.
It's only a TD05 so won't break the bank if it goes.
