What's the chassis number. If it's an ra, it's a basic wrx.

http://www.type-ra.com/impreza-model...?query=gc8c47d

The Gearbox code is either wrong, does not exist or if misread means it's an RA. It is a bit of a heap in all fairness, wrong bonnet, lights, grill, bumper, side skirts, spoiler etc etc. Hope it was cheap.

http://www.type-ra.com/subaru-impreza-my95-wrx-type-ra/

Does it have a roof flap or just a stupid scoop?

Because an RA does not have them fitted. RA means "Race Altered" with many standard items deleted to save weight, by buying a car with the bits fitted you miss the point!

Advice you have received but if you don't like it that's your choice. It's not an STi, I hope you did not buy it as one?
I do drive mine regularly perhaps, you could drive your car down to a meet, if it runs? Or Japfest? or PCAD? or our trip to the Stelvio in September, we are going via Lake Como (it's in Italy).

I look after mine, I drive it regularly and the standard cars are fetching good money because too many others have been modified to death.

Your choice is your, I hope you enjoy it.

If it's option code is 61C then it is an Sti, based on a wrx.

So possibly is a gen Sti. But gotta agree with trooper!! The car looks like a bag of $hite. Cars of this marque should deffo not be fcuked around with. I really hope you didn't pay over £950 for it in that state !?

To be honest fella don't know what it is thought it might have been reshelled I have even taken it to a fella I know up in ystylafera it does have lots of mods and I did ask around on here last year it is an import it does have a cdb block and when I chase the chassis's no it says type ra ???
Bought the car for fun really just trying to find a little history on it
Someone spent thousands on it ast coilovers link ECU rotated turbo tarox big brake kit etc and abused the life out of it .
If I can finish my t /technics conversion it may well be at japfest if not will be at rally day or I may be in my wrx wagon depends on weather and health cause the last garage I took it to totally ripped me off and never even fixed the oil leek no names but the ******* is from gorsinon charged me nearly a grand for timing belt, oil change front cam seals rocker cover .
Anyway my names Pete and any help really appreciated

Yes option code is 61 c and it is a project bit of fun
No hole in screen for rear wiper but the bottle is in the boot and the bracket/frame is there for the wiper in boot

The applied model code does not suggest it being an STI.

Does it have rear wiper ??

In my big book of model codes,
GC8C47D is wrx type ra
GC8C47D 61C wrx type ra Sti version. "Modified from production wrx"

Whichever ra model it may be, it should be standard. With a car that is modified in the way yours is, you will never receive a warm welcome from a Subaru enthusiast forum. Whichever site you may join. You could join WWW.BARRYBOYS.CO.UK and feel at home ?

But it's sacralidge to do this to a very rare car like yours.

Get lots of detailed pics up, and maybe we could guide you in the right direction !!

Not an STI RA then.

You guys need to forget the option codes, its not a way of working out what model you have. I've seen different option codes on models that the 'books' say they shouldn't be on. Its the same with engine codes, subaru mixed and matched so no book will be 100% right.

Op, the model code you gave suggests its a wrx ra, and the missing rear wiper confirms this. Where is the aerial on the car ?? Does it have wind up windows out of interest.

Mine has the wind ups already Paddy but I could do with a spare set. My handles have seen better days to be honest.

No aerial on the car anywhere could have been removed as it has been resprayed and I think it did have wind ups originally as they only work from drivers door another thing I noticed is that it only has c/l on front doors
Going to drop headlining and check roof and remove the scoop hopeing its not bolted through roof

Not much of it is original now so there is no point in calling it an RA. At least the rear bumper is standard. Can't see much else. With what's been added/removed it could easily have been a standard turbo 2000 or a bog standard WRX.

The only way anyone would know it's an RA now is the code on the plaque.

For reference, this is what an STI Type RA should be like: https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-444...4-000-ono.html

Bit disappointed with some of the responses to this.
So what if it has all the bits fitted why have a pop at Pete and make out like he is a simpleton. All he came on here for, was some input so he could put another Ra back on the road and not break it.

Having seen the car it looks like the previous owner didn't have a clue what an Ra was and started fitting the sti refinements.
Have looked and compared the car to my Wrx Ra and the shell is an Ra shell so Pete is now working to put it back to look like an Ra should.
