Only 476 registered at the end of 2013 .

It's been mentioned before, normal is the new modded.

"476 taxed and on the road at the end of 2013"

How many nice examples had been SORN'ed off the road for the winter I wonder?

I know of at least one

I guess it's inevitable that numbers will eventually dwindle away and prices will start to climb again for nice examples

As someone pointed out mid-way through the Pistonheads thread, they appear to have got their numbers wrong. According to HowManyLeft, at the end of 2013 there were 4,300 taxed and 1,600 SORN'ed:

http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle...turbo_2000_awd

Saying that though, it's less than half the number of them that were originally produced though...

Got my V3 Type R tucked away, slowly buying parts as and when they pop up at the right money just 2 bits left to get now then the fun begins.

I've been saying this for some time now and have started to see prices rising for nice clean examples over the past couple of years, original is the new modded for those in the know.

Mine is going to need a fair bit of cash throwing at it but little by little i'll get it to where I want it, which is basically like new and have it as my weekender in a 2/3 years.

I've always said that standard is the way forward too. People pay big money for unabused 80s performance Fords - if you can find one that is. The early Impreza has always been the new RS Turbo/XR3i.

If you can keep your car in original form, unmodified (that means everything), low mileage and fully serviced you're onto a winner. If you can't, just enjoy it

Well it's a good job I bought this 2 weeks ago Near completely standard apart from an OMP racing wheel fitted by a previous owner. The only thing I've done is changed the orange side indicators for clear ones and the same for the front side lights. My only other plans for her are some Tein lowering springs and a 4-wheel alignment. Full service history and 69,700 miles

I've still got the original orange lights At least I've kept the orange front indicators In fact after reading the article and comments, I may put them back on

Mine wouldn't show up on the list as it doesn't mention Impreza on my V5. The model is just 'STI'.

Ah yes, I thought it could have been standard as the Momo wheel is standard, but I've just done a bit of research and you're correct. Ah well!
