Default My type r has supprised me

Well after the brakes going on my old work horse van I had to use my v6 type r for a fairly long distance drive yesterday, a little worried that the trip was going to cost me a small fortune I filled the tank up expecting to make another trip to the shell station whilst out on my trip. To my surprise the car did the full 300 mile round trip then another 50 mile round trip the same eve and its still going, looking like im going to get about 370 miles from this tank. More than happy with that, my van wouldn't of done the trip much cheaper

Nice car, when I am doing motorway miles I just try to keep the needle around the 3K mark in 6th gear and the mpg is around the same, that is until I open up her lungs.SJ.

Is it running on fairy dust? thats amazing, my old Type R did 20mpg, had to refuel on a 230 mile trip, and still used 1/4 tank finishing the distance!

That's really good. As Jay said it's around 33.5mpg. It's easy when off boost.

Did a long journey recently(Walsall to Rochdale) and drove the whole way without using the turbo(got overtaken by quite a lot of lorrys) and was suprised that I didnt use much petrol at all.

OP just needs to crack the 400 miles to a tank.

It can be done, even with some thrashing of the car involved.

Great news. Nice looking car btw.
It's no fun when every trip costs the earth & nothing at all to do with affording it!
