I was told (and caught out) by a tuner that his center and rear section off his competition blob would fit straight onto my classic wrx, after piking up and inspecting the following weekend (i trusted this guy, stupidly being young and a bit green) i noticed that part of the rear section had been cut, and a piece of about 8" added and welded to it.
So in my experience with it, id say that it will require cutting and shortening, or possibly the required amount cut off and a new flange welding on.

In my case i think the hanger was on the correct side, just tipe before the backbox had to be lengthened. The car is in hibernation at the moment, so i cant tell you exact lengths atm im sorry. If you need to know exactly i can measure it up tomro for you.

I put a Afterburner Vortex from a Classic onto my 05 STI a few years ago, fitted no problem with just as mentioned rear hanger not connected. Never had one problem with it for three years.
