There will be a convoy, which will be setting off from the BP Services on the A19 just South of Kirklevington.
I will post more regarding the time nearer the date.

We will be meeting at the BP Services on the A19, about 3 miles south of Kirklevington........ just past the Black Swan Pub.
There are no Shell Station en-route to Elvington once we set off, but there is one a couple of miles off the ring road at york.
Meeting time to be arranged

Ok, seems a good place to begin.
One thing though, i have never taken part in a convoy before so don't know the protocol in such situations.
As i will have my family aboard the trusty sti i will NOT be going hell for leather to York. I presume taking it easy is the name of the game maximising exposure
I will have to peel off at York to drop the wife off to do a bit of retail therapy

convoy from teeside
I would suggest 8.30am departure from BP Station , it opens to spectators at 9 and racing starts at 10.30. Will take up to 40mins / 1 Hour at average speed , and as its a convoy and I too have family with me it certainly isnt a race ! , the cops would just love us to do that .

I think it would look very good if we put the oldest cars up front right through to the the newest at the back - Would look good going through some of the villages!!!
Obviously this may be harder in practise though!!!

Nik,
Don't worry, we certainly don't regard the convoy to York as a race.
We get there safely with no incident. It's a tried and tested method.
8:30am is the expected time for departure from the BP Services on the A19.

Good because there's a time and a place for everything.
My son can't wait to be part of a convoy of his favourite cars (besides evos )
Its a shame i have to peel off to go to Mcarthur Glen shopping centre to drop off the wife and daughter.
Wonder if theres a bus stop on rote to the shootout
Nik.

Yeah great idea.
Why not expand it more and put everbody in some sort of order ie standard wrx, sti, special editions etc etc .
Now that would be tricky
I (if ok with eveybody) plan on taking photos but promise that any uploaded photos onto Scoobynet will have all number plates blanked out.
