Thumbs up RS Turbo s2 Project advice.

Hi everyone. Id like some advice from you guys regarding an rs turbo project i have in mind. The aims are relatively simple. To build a crazy pocket rocket for a bit of fun.

Im thinking of getting say a 90 plate s2 model and have it totally stripped down dealing with the bodywork first. I did consider the wrx or sti classic project but the costs for this are still massively high, i think the subaru industry is creaming the popularity for all its worth.

I am aware that power engineering used to do a zetec turbo conversion called stage 2, are they still around for this ?

I have set aside a budget of around 4 k excluding the cost of the car, so what would u fellas advise.

I think around 250 bhp is what im aiming for on this.

Take it to Harvey Gibbs (SCS Peterborough) and get him to build you an engine thats what i did , i managed to get 240 bhp out of a 1.6 still using the standard fueling system , was one of the most fun and fastest cars i owned.
Or or give Christian Major a ring at APT Norwich.

Thanks for the advice mate, appreciate it. I rang power engineering but there not undertaking the system 2 conversions anymore so will give these lads a shout. im stuck in between modding this rs or taking it a step further with my scoob. I do think that per pound the rs is better value and more fun to modify.

This is an interesting 500bhp escort turbo project on pistonheads

My 500bhp Escort RS Turbo build


Though my fav at the mo is the twin engined corsa hoping for 900bhp

Twin Engine Vauxhall Corsa (est 900bhp+)...........

my mate just swapped his one for a wrx which has a 1.8 16v zetec motor, with a deconpression plate, megasquirt management, nissan 200 sx injectors, cossie pump, mtx75 gearbox, airesearch stage 2 turbo, and powerflow exhaust
pulled clean off the clock at 140 with more to go!

i had a systems two P.E engine in my RST its not a zetec lump used it was the 1.6 taken out to 1.9

i know of an RST for sale nere me at the mo with big money been spent, heres the spec, better off buying one with all the money spent

I HAVE A £1000 RECIEPT FOR THE GEARBOX, THE CAR ALSO HAS FULL SERVIVE HISTORY WITH FULLY STAMPED BOOK, OVER ALL THIS CAR IS STUNNING AND HAS THOUSANDS SPENT ON IT, IT WOULD MAKE A VERY FAST ROAD CAR OR AN AWSOME TRACK CAR,
