Thumbs up Another UK car breaks 300

Hi all

I can't believe the RR results I got today for my UK '99 Impreza:

280 BHP
305 lb ft

Mods:
1) Scorpion downpipe
2) Magnex centre and rear
3) Gruppe-S headers
4) Link ECU
5) Forge recirc dump valve
6) Samco hoses

Thanks to Bob for the mapping and Extreme for fitting the headers and advice.

Thanks

Sonu

what r/r and boost to get 305lb-ft?

the only TD04 MY99 UK that I have seen, with this sort of torque result, at our local rolling road was running about 1.7bar.

Thanks

Sonu has the info he needs, T-UK I have had several UK cars that high in the past, around 1.45 would do it which is a v nice peak. Sonu peaks at that and holds 1.3 to about 5800 then it falls over as always to about 1.0/1.1 ish. Makes a bar by about 2200 in fourth using the benchmark test.

cheers

What sort of charge temperatures and EGTs would you end up with on track with this boost profile on a TMIC?

At Knockhill, running over 1.25 bar got the charge temperatures 40C over ambient after only 5 laps, that is only about 5-6 minutes. That was a cool day (15C) so 55C was the point where things were backed off.

thanks bob.

peak power seems at very low revs?

john,

that was quite a while ago now. I can't remember what the boost was higher up but we may have been flogging the turbo at the top end in those days??.

Expect the load impedance allowed the boost to fall over early, thats what usually happens. I'm looking at the datalogs from the mapping.

T-uk it was about 1.25 bar until 5000 RPM and then rolled off to 1.05 bar at 6000 RPM.
