MarkA,
Cool pop by. Normally I live in Cheshire and pop up on weekends when I can. used to be found in the local watering hole late (very late) on Saturday nights whinging about the Pug and its lack of power to anyone who'd listen. Unfortunately the local has changed hands and the Spanish lasses have left now
Wondered how you knew that I was from Yorkshire when your profile says kent !
Look out for the Silver 328 in the yard and pop by if its about on a weekend.
Kippax ~ The latest photos were taken on Sunday. Won't be ready for the spray shop for a while yet. As for the one you linked OMG that is amazing. (and somewhat over our price range !)

Starting to look much much better now. On about the 7th top coat now ! Finish is starting to look very good (with the exception of a couple of runs which should come out )
You wouldn't beleive the number of hours a dedicated Dad has put in
Should look fantastic in a few weeks time. GRP bonnet needs spraying as does the inside of the boot. Once that's done it can come out of the garage ~ 1st time since 13th July !
Quick recap on what happened ! On the 13th July a mate rolled a shared car belonging to himself and my brother. Luckily only his pride (and wallet) were seriously affected, although he may take years to recover from the ribbing he's got since. My Dad has toiled for months working on the car since and its now starting to look in amazing shape again. Not long before the suspension is changed (bent front ARB, and twisted rear leaves) and it will be back use-able.
Apologies for the large pics initially.

On the 13th July my brothers MK1 Escort had a rather unfortunate incident in a Sprint at 3 Sisters in Wigan. The car rolled in a spectacular fashion damaging EVERY panel apart from the boot lid. Pre-incident the car was immaculate, and irony has it that they won "Best prepared car" that day and picked up their award post incident!!!!!
The mate who was driving at the time wasn't seriously hurt, although spent quite some time in the ambulance being checked. Didn't even suffer any glass cuts.
The work on the MK1 Escort is well and truely underway now, with the full works blister arches almost finished. The photos in the link below show the rather scarey restoration project.
Hopefully it should be ready for painting towards the end of October

I've just worked out that you opposite my parents. They own the "coach house" I've seen a number of cars in that garage, scooby, mk2 escort and the pug. Might pop over next time I'm staying with them. I own the green mondeo, never brought the scooby up yet, but trying to sort out a couple of hillclimbs at harewood next season.

Well errrr may have been ! I seem to recall it was a perfectally executed do-nut. Good grief that MK2 was a nail. Rough as hell with a X-flow in it.
My brother sold that and bought the MK1 shell and many creates full of parts a couple of years ago. Since then the MK1 was immaculately restored and campaigned VERY competitively at Harewood. It always draws a crowd to watch it go up the hill in its usual "maximum attack" style.
The collection is currently expanding. We've a RS000 (MK2) waiting in the wings to be restored which will be immaculate when finished. A couple of bits of the exterior need fixing, but the seats and all the trimmings are like new. Unlike the MK1 which is used in competition and is somewhat modified the MK2 will remain completely standard as its soooo original.

uploaded some more video of my mate driving my brothers Escort. NB he's the one that rolled it
New Brighton Sea Front public road basic sprint around based on sea front roads. Fantastic venue, but very very rough roads. Just look at the way the head gets hammered around
http://www.peugeotsport205.co.uk/video/NewBrighton.wmv
Below is a video of a "Fun Run" which basically a none timed run ~ so time for a bit of "show boating". The Fun Runs are fantastic. I was told the marshalls clapped on this run
http://www.peugeotsport205.co.uk/vid...righton_fr.wmv
Below is a timed run from Aintree Sprint. The diff was changed for a much higher ratio one which accounts for the way in which it really does struggle off the line, and the lack of LSD which means that it just lights up the unloaded rear all the time.
http://www.peugeotsport205.co.uk/video/Aintree_Esc.wmv
And some more showboating
http://www.peugeotsport205.co.uk/video/Aintree_fr.wmv
Update from today is that its got the side windows in, the inside has been sprayed. Mostly complete. A few things left to source such as the roof lining which was ruined and some window rubbers which were wrecked when it went over.
More pics later this week.

For those who need to know...
Its a 2 litre Pinto unit, rebuilt by John Nobles Motorsport in Chesterfield. Running a Quaife ProSport (?) rocket box which is THE most amazing box I've ever used. I normally compete in the Peugoeot myself (in the way below), but have driven the 'scort on a number of occaisions. Fantastic... can't say any more !
More pics taken on Sunday.

It's not fair, I'm desperately trying to resist buying a mkII and hurling loads of money at it that I haven't got, you're sooooooooo not helping
The car looks so sweet

Great car! brave rebuild too!
I hill climb and sprint my 911 in the 90's and my STiV3 now, Three Sisters is a very hard track to go fast on....had a few wild '911 moments'but never on my roof.
Question: Do you think that front strut brace actually does anything? Can't you squeeze a straight tube between the carb filters, bolt-on so to remove the engine easy?
will be a treasure when you are done!
Graham.

No more upto date pics I'm afraid, but its coming along nicely. The headlining was put in today along with all the glass, and some interior trimmings. Dash was put back in so quite chuffed with the days proceedings ! The fibreglass bonnet was measured up and fitted, next needs to be removed and painted
Alloy fuel tank fitted and fuel lines connected back up.
List of things still to do is quite large thou'
* Replace rear springs (Knackered on roll)
* Remove, clean and refurb front coilovers
* Finish wiring electrics up.. indicators, headlights etc.
* Fit competition seats back in
* Source new minilite wheels with correct offset of arches
As for the strange strut brace.. not sure it does a whole hell of a lot, but looks interesting ! Gearbox we can remove in I around 15 mins.. engine not much longer ! Got it down to a fine art !
With all this Escort work completely forgot about my Pug which also needs work for this season

Unfortunately the 'scort is my Brothers, and I own the "funny" french thing ~ but enjoy driving the 'scort when I can.
French thing isn't the most reliable thing ever..self inflicted mainly with pistons meeting valves, clutches vapourizing etc. Now being fit with throttle bodies so that I can attempt to keep up with the 30 year old Escort !
