Subaru powered Mini one 👍
So, just after Christmas, me, my balding brother and our even more balding cousin decided we wanted another little project.
After looking up some different options and checking wheelbase dimensions and engine sizes etc we decided on a newage mini one and a classic impreza 👍
Within a couple of days we had our mini. A British racing green mini one 1.6 with a blown engine
We gutted the mini to a completely bare Shell within a few days and then started looking for a donor car.
We found a 2001 impreza turbo 2000 in good condition for Fairly cheap.
After deciding the route we were going to take, we removed the engine and built a steel table to mount all the necessary mounts, subframes, and tunnel to in order to keep it all nice and square.
Now we had all the parts we needed off the subaru we rang a man to come and remove the very sad looking impreza Shell
So now we got the mini right up on the ramp with the table and all subaru parts underneath to have a look how things are lining up
We got the mini cut ready for the tunnel and rear diff and then dropped the mini down into place (only mod necessary to overall dimensions was to shorten the subaru wheelbase 50mm)
Now 2 months after buying the mini everything is mounted, tacked in place and half way through welding
Next job will be getting a set of coilovers to reduce how much we need to cut out in the boot
Obviously we couldn't resist mounting the gold wheels with the bonnet and bumpers in place
Will keep this updated as we get on
Note the brother and cousin

Soo the front end Is not far off now, just need the cooper s bonnet to clear the engine and a radiator making up.
Tunnel is fully welded in now and we've made and welded in the mounts for the rear control arms and diff front mounts so we just need to cut out the mini for the bigger subaru coilovers and get them in and then we'll have a rolling car 👍
Thanks to IanG1983 for the meisterr coilovers ☺👌
