Default 94 L Impreza 300WHP DD Project

OK so here we go.
Second Subaru Owned
First Swap Attempted...

-1.8 Stock Everything
-5 Speed

Intentions:

- 1997 Ej22E Swap (Maintaing Cali Carb)
- Full Port and Polish
- APC Cam and Crank
- Wiesco Pistons and Rods
- Crawford Performance Package
Pulley, Air Intake Setup, High Pressure Gasket Kit
8mm Thermal Wires, and Plugs.

and later on a td05 turbo setup with front mount...

And ...so on....

Just wanted to start up and write up. Been planning this project for quite some time now so this will go semi quick and progress will be updated as much as possible.
Done my fair share of research so I won't be asking obvious questions I could nearly research myself. This is just a journal and really a suggestion box for other owners. Thank you ahead of time for any helpful advice given. That said.

I know my swap options and I know the 2.2 is a long way from 300 to the wheels but its not impossible. Don't wanna best any Debbie downers...I have the time..have the money...and really I'm just an enthusiast out for fun and a sh%& eating grin hear our rumble pur along....

Dan at Crawford Performance in San Diego CA is a friend.I used to work on his overhead garage doors. When his silver spec c was killing it on time attack circuit. He's gonna be guiding me a lot in this project. He's putting together a lil 2.2 Package deal for me lol with EJ parts around the shop...cant wait.

Tomorrow morning I'll give a walk around pic show of the starter for now I have the swap motor pic on my tablet so I'll post that to see if I remember how to attach stuff.
Good night to all the fans in the house . More details and updates to come soon..."salute"

What I started with...

Going to pick n pull tomorrow for a more closer look at this engine. It showed up in the yard on December 17th. And looklooks to have taken a head on impact with a tree. Core support and radiator is pushed into the timing belt cover and cracked it....the oil pan is crumpked. I looked for major damage but couldnt see nothing major. They just totalled it out for the frame damage I'm guessing.
...The tranny is already gone so that's awesome for removal.

There is also two ej25s in the yard I might have to take a look around and see what I can get off them. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

They only charge 179.99 for for the entire engine.
Not including any accesories .... Block, Distributor, Coils, Intake, Heads, Pulleys, Throttle body, air box intake and other stuff is included. I know a lot from the ej18 is exchangeable with the ej22 but a list of what I could use would be awesome....

Anyone know a source for in dash gauge setups does anyone? Want it to look integrated and not tweakified....
Oil Temp...Oil Pressure and Boost I'm guessing...

In dash and UK OEM was Lamco gauges in the Classic shape, not sure if you can still get them new or not, they are becoming extremely rare to find, they come in either a centre console or dash top pod depending on model year/ dash type.

I have a set of 4 that took me in the region of 2yrs waiting and watching to get my hands on, then just like buses 2 sets came up one after the other, they're expensive too probably looking at around $300 for a set including pod 2nd hand, IF you can find some.

not a bad deal swapping some speakers for the EJ22! I'd be inclined to keep it looking like a stock L.. make a great sleeper..
