Default 333bhp Modified MY99 Classic For Sale

My car is a modified 333bhp 1999 T plate UK Classic Subaru Impreza Turbo 4 door saloon in Green. I am the 4th owner of the car, which I bought form another Subaru enthusiast on September 2008. The car is HPI Clear.

The car has spent most of it’s time with me making the daily journey up the motorway from Neath to Bristol, 140 mile round trip. The car has excellent fuel economy of 32mpg when cruising in 5th at 70mph, a testament to the mapping carried out by Bob Rawle. The current mileage on the car is around 122,250 but will change as I still use the car daily.

The mileage maybe high but the engine has only covered 40,000 (mainly motorway) miles since API rebuild. Also the Exedy clutch has done only 30,000 (again mainly motorway) miles since it was changed (see history below).

The car is taxed for another 10 months and is not affected by the new government tax rules, so the tax will not increase. The car has been recently MOT’d, with no issues, so nothing to worry about for another 11 months.

As for security, the car benefits from the excellent factory Sigma Cat 1 Alarm/Immobiliser and comes supplied with a certificate of compliance for insurance purposes. I have two keys and two alarm keyfobs to go with the car.

I've owned the car since September 2008 and it’s been a fun car to live with and work on. I am only selling as I've bought modified bugeye WRX from another forum member, h8nsk .

I have just fitted this week, 17" Subaru alloy wheels from a new age blobeye WRX. These also have brand new Falken 912 tyres fitted which are an excellent all round tyre.

The car will benefit from a full 4 wheel alignment by David Coe Auto Engineering of Gorseinon, Swansea before sale. Dave Coe is an ex-WRC mechanic and is a popular choice for servicing and maintenance for Scooby owners in South Wales. ( car is booked in for 23rd May 2009)

The modifications to the car are extensive but they all combine perfectly to make this classic into the fastest car I have ever owned or driven. There is virtually no turbo lag from the VF34 turbo, with almost instant acceleration from any gear at any revs. It’s a breathtaking drive that far surpasses that of a standard Impreza turbo. I’ve listed the modifications below;

Modifications
- Scoobysport 3" sportscat downpipe (heatwrapped) - easily passed MOT emissions test
- HKS Hi-Power Silent 3" exhaust system (heatwrapped)
- 3 port boost solenoid
- Green Panel filter in standard airbox (cleaned in April 2009 and remaining cleaning fluid supplied)
- New VF34 turbo fitted by Interpro Bristol prior to mapping session.
- Uprated Walbro Fuel pump
- STI TMIC with standard recirculating dump valve
- TMIC silicon pipework (blue)
- STI 7 bonnet scoop (no undertray fitted but can supply STI 8 version undertray if required)
- Engine rebuild & new cambelt by API at 80k by previous owner due to MAF failure September 2006
- Ecutek re-map by Bob Rawle (BR Developments) in December 2006 running 333 bhp and 343 ft lbs on 98 ron Shell V-Power. Work carried out 8000 miles after engine rebuild.
- Exedy Organic clutch (400bhp capable) fitted by API at 90k miles
- Lightened and balanced flywheel fitted by API at 90k miles
- Headers ported by API
- Standard 440 injectors fitted
- STI Rear lights
- Clear front side lights & indicators
- Cross drilled and grooved front brake disks with OMP pads up front
- Standard brake disks and pads on rear
- STI Fog/Driving lamp covers
- Fitted JBL 6.5" component speakers in front doors
- Fitted JBL 6.5" 3 way speakers in rear shelf
- Basic Kenwood flip front CD/Radio but new Bluetooth/Ipod/Iphone Kenwood HU available as extra cost.

The cost of these modifications run in to the thousands.

The service history is also quite extensive and can be seen below.

Bad points
The front bumper & leading edge of the bonnet is now showing the odd stone chip.

The usual small car park dinks are on the doors but it’s nothing that detracts from the overall look of the car.

I have changed the steering column due to wear in the original ignition barrel (the key kept falling out). This involved sourcing a new column as the barrel is fixed and cannot be swapped independently. A replacement was fitted and was supplied with two new keys (with immobiliser chip) included. A lock set was also supplied and I have changed the boot lock. The front door locks still need to be done and if I get time I will change them. I use the central locking/alarm to lock/unlock the car so it’s not an issue for me at the moment.

Revised Asking Price
£3150 ovno

The car is based in Neath, South Wales

New pics will follow after a full valet and if it stops raining. The following are pics of the car taken last September with the OZ's on (which I'm keeping for my new bugeye).

No problem mate . The 3 port was installed by Bob Rawle prior to the Ecutek mapping session. All carried out by the previous owner so I wasn't directly involved in the fitting. PM me if you want me to take some pics of the area which may help?

Not much interest so far.

Update
4 wheel alignment done yesterday at David Coe Auto Engineering (ex-WRC mechanic) and a fresh oil change (Subaru filter and Silkolene 15w50) done by me in the sunshine.
