PPP'd MY99 for sale
#1
Probably wasting my time seeing the response to "Subaru for sale" posts in the last wee while, but here goes anyway.
I have owned my car for a year and a half, and am the second owner from new. It is a UK 4 door 1999 S reg, silver with PPP fitted a year ago. It has leather interior, sunroof, FSSH, CD player, has covered 38000 miles and has Subaru extended warranty until Jan 2004.
I am looking for around £11000, but may P/EX with something more refined and less tempting to drive fast.
Cheers dwk*

I wouldn't say you were asking too much for your car!
Stick to your guns and it'll go at or very near the asking price, I had a mad 5 minutes wanting to sell mine a few months back, lucky for me it didn't go, so I'm still enjoying it

Some constructive views and a free BTTT:-
I think you're right - it is a bad time to sell at the moment.
The price is probably about right as a starting point to someone who wants your spec car - especially with PPP.
However, I picked up my 40k FsSH with A/C 99T in April for £10500 privately so I'd be prepared to come down 10% if pushed.
On alternatives, and being serious, I very nearly p/xed mine for a demo model Skoda Octavia vRS - more refined, better built, cheaper to run and a simple PPP style chip for £500 gives you 220bhp.
The Skoda form a dealer was £12500 (51 reg) and they offered £9500 for mine.

IMO the worst time of year to sell is from December to March, utterly dismal. But it seems tough selling any car privately thats worth 10k or more these days, as people often want to PX (because they can't be bothered to sell privately themselves and deal with all manner of cretins)

Thanks for the replies chaps, I keep wondering if I'm doing the right thing selling my car so if it doesn't go maybe thats a sign eh?
I prefer to buy and sell privately, and save a few quid.
I don't have a picture to post at the moment, but it is a standard silver MY99 with colour coded mirrors and sills.

Where abouts are you? I'm just starting my hunt for my 2nd Scooby and yours is exactly what I'm looking for. Still gotta finalise money and insurance (must check on the PPP) but sounds good.

I would rather sell together, but might sell the PPP ECU on its own.
I'm not changing out exhaust sections or the intercooler piping.
Car comes with standard exhaust sections and ECU.

Hello again!
Could you get some pics sorted, if you weren't so far from me I wouldn't ask. Inside and out if poss as I've never clapped eyes on scooby leather seats. I'm up for a long drive and have had a very favourable insurance quote compared to what I paid last time around. Please email the pics if preferable to subverbal@hotmail.com.
Cheers.

Hi Subverbal, I am taking my car around to a workmates on friday. He wants the car but his wife has to give the OK, I think she is worried it is going to be difficult to drive. I am giving him first refusal until then.
Weather permiting, I will take some pictures tomorrow. I don't know how to upload them, so will send them to you.
Cheers for the input Moles Dad.
