Have I missed something or has this not been discussed?

The best hybrid ever

But then it would be just another normal super car....

It's a fantastic step forward in my eyes and although far from perfect, it shows what is capable.

Yeah. Nice N/A V10 would suit the car much better.

Same with La Ferrari. Who is going to ever need the KERS button?

McLaren's P1. Who is ever going to need DRS?

Cars are getting silly now.

Not sure they are losing direction.

I just think they don't want audi to beat their le mans record.

The problem as I see it, is the batteries. The weight, toxicity and the tech.... I just dont think any of it is good enough. However, it looks to be moving in the right direction.....

Might be why they have hired Mark Webber as well

EDIT
If you have not, watch the Chris Harris review on YouTube, they have worked so hard at dropping weight on everything, custom made carbon bits for everything just to trim weight..... then they add the batteries. For me, I would prefer the option to choose hybrid or not.

When I was a Jaguar this week, there was a video demo of their latest vehicle which has the power of a veyron. , the range of a primus. , the emissions of note.

The engine developed something like 350 bhp per litre. And was 1.6litres!

The car was developed with Williams F1 team it looks like it will become a reality

Yeah it's NOT a green vehicle, you don't put a 4.6 V8 in a car if you want to maximise fuel efficiency. I'm not saying it isn't an amazing car but it won't save the planet by any means. This is a car designed to promote Porsche by being very fast and showing off their mastery of green tech whilst not being very green at all.

Watching Chris Harris Video, I think (Apart from the weight) the 918 will be the better car than the McLaren or Ferrari, both of which look like they can only be driven on a race track.

I also think the 918 has Gobsmacked both McLaren & Ferrari in just how fast it is, given that neither has posted up their Lap times after Porsche did.

I'll take my 918 in Black please.

A few UK owners seem to have taken delivery. A few even taking them on track.

Saw one of these in the flesh a few weeks ago, at Specialists of Malton's "Big Yorkshire Breakfast".

The thing looks amazing. Think I'd prefer one of these to both the La Ferrari & McLaren P1
