Audi A4 3.2Q / Skoda 1.8T, Volvo T5 Estates
Sold out CRV derv and now looking at estate cars with the usual suspects been, BM's 3/5 series, Merc C/E class, etc.
The Audi A4 3.2Q Avant, Volvo T5 and Skoda Octavia 1.8T are jumping out at me at the moment with the Audi been top - and handy been a 4wd.
It will probably only be doing 10/12k miles a year. I have looked at diesels but as it only get used for long runs in the summer and short journeys any other time, it hardly seems worth the extra premium and extra costs when things do go wrong.
Kind of narrowed it down to either the Audi A4 3.2q, Volvo T5 or Skoda 1.8T. Anyone good any experience of these three or can recomend something that's good, reliable and not a bank breaker? I'd prefer manual to an auto but it won't be the end of the world either way.

I had an A4 avant for a little while but found the boot space wasn't that great. Might be worth checking to make sure you can fit whatever gear you need to carry before you buy.

I bought a Legacy 3.0R Spec B for my wife when our twins were born, It is a much better package than the Audi / Skoda estates I have driven for work. The Subaru H6 engine is sublime. My only criticism of this car, is that the clutch can make you look like a learner driver until you get used to it.
