Its amazing what people will do to their cars. You can just imagine to the poor chaps in the workshop who were having to do the work. I bet they were all gathering round to have a good giggle as the work was being done.

Its a rebodied Golf 1.8T nothing more nothing less. Well actually it is less becuase its a Pink cat D piece of shyte,
A R8 is stunning, I saw one earlier today, even in bland silver its unmistakeable, it has a very similar visual profile to a Honda NSX (which I used to own). A TT is alot taller and has much higher waistline so it looks frumpy in comparison. That's before its painted lurid pink. The R8 is much much lower, the roofline is at the same height as my waist...a TT's roof line is at the height of my shoulders
Then there is the noise. A R8 be it v8 or v10 sounds awesome. The 4 pot 1.8 sounds like a continual fart.
On that basis, I'll offer £500..If my bid is successful, it'll go straight to the crusher.

The R8 is on a pedestal whereas the TTS does very well to even be compared to it. If they were on a level playing field and decisions were based on looks alone the TTS wouldn't get a look in.

Looks alone I could agree, but under the skin the TT is just a Golf with extra aluminum and a tiny boot.
Apart from the OTR price for a new 2.5 TT-RS is over £45K
No Golf is worth £45K, because thats all it is, a fast/high spec VW Golf; Basic suspension and basic chassis. R8 does have proper suspension, not macphersons and an aluminium sectional framed chassis behind and infront of the passenger 'tub', not a monocoque floorpan (although Audi call it a spaceframe, its far from one a true spaceframe- its just the same as most other current mass-production cars).
