Seat Leon FR / Mazda 6 Sport?
I don't think it makes sense owning the Impreza anymore, I would save £2500 a year getting one of these! Has anyone any experience of either?

What sort of driving do you do?
Is this an alternative to the scoob or an addition?
If you get the Leon, make sure its been back for its recall on the injectors/wiring loom.
Do you need a car that big?

I have a Leon reference sport it's a lovely car and I really like it but as said above the 170 engines can have injector issues so you need to look out for that, otherwise they are great cars.

To clarify, its the injectors in the pump duse (PD) version that have been recalled. The common rail ( CR ) versions have not had an injector recall.
I ran a Golf GT 170 ( so same engine as Leon FR PD engine) for 100k miles and aside from the injector issue they are good engines. Because of the DPF they are not suitable for continuous short journeys, so if you have a short commute you will have DPF issues and regular active regens to keep the DPF clear ( this kills fuel economy).
I did 100miles a day so DPF got a passive regen quite easily and didnt give too many issues.

There has been no recall on the 140 engines for injectors, they are completely different injectors made by Bosch where as the 170 injectors are made by Siemens.
My 140 Leon was in the dealership last week and they checked for recalls at that point.

They have recalled both, the 140's suffer the same issue as the 170's (i know of a few 140's with expensive injector replacements, circa £900), so the VW group has both recalled.

I still like the look of the Skoda Octavia vRS
Obviously part of the VW lot so presume same problems?
Just think its a better looking car than the Seat
Prefer the Seat to the Mazda though and I own a Mazda! Presume its a Mondeo in drag? (actually,Mondeo be a good bet)

I generally do 6.5 miles each way to work and then maybe a longer trip at the weekend. I drive a bit over the limit but not stupidly quick (I often have my two year old daughter with me).
I need to be able to get golf clubs in the boot and a decent bike rack too.
Thanks for the heads up on the Leon problem.
