Been thinking about these lately, servicing isn't too ruinous, tyres might be another story! Anyone have any experience of them?

I have worked as Jaguar salesman for 10 years so I have a bit of experince with them.

Engines are usually bomb proof if serviced, occasional gearbox failures (very expensive if you get a main dealer replacement)

Plenty of specialists out there for parts and servicing.

Hugely underated car, quick, refined and subtle.

I have considered buying one myself in the past but the only thing that stopped me ?

No manual transmission option !

As much as I love Jaguar I could not have it as my only 'weekend' car, would need to keep the Subaru or something similar.

The alternative ?

BMW E39 M5, manual only !

Forgot to add, wheels are 18" as standard so tyres are reasonable.

I think you could have them with optional 19" Barcelona for the last year of production (2007) but quite rare !

I know a very good mechanic who had to rebuild his engine twice over 4 years of ownership.

Used to drive these a lot when I worked at Jaguar.

The whine from the supercharger is addictive.

Great cars but would'nt want to have to pay for the fuel. I used to get 15mpg at best !!!
